Japanese Empress Diagnosed with Myocardial Ischemia

Tests performed at the University of Tokyo Hospital have shown that Empress Michiko is suffering from myocardial ischemia, a condition in which blood flow to the heart is reduced. According to the Imperial Household Agency, Empress Michiko will not have to have surgery at this stage to fix the condition, she will receive medication if her chest pains continue to worsen. Princess Josephine Breaks Her Arm While Horse Riding

Queen Máxima Opens Leontien House

Queen Máxima of the Netherlands today was in Zevenhuizen, in the country’s south-west, to officially open the Leontien House, a centre to help people suffering from eating disorders. The Duke of Kent Hospitalised with Hip Injury

The Duke of Kent has been hospitalised with a hip injury, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson has confirmed. “I can confirm that the Duke of Kent was admitted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in Scotland for treatment of a hip injury,” the spokesperson said. The Duke was admitted on Sunday. It is believed he suffered a dislocated hip while staying on the Balmoral Estate.
