Funeral of Prince Alexandre

The funeral of Belgium’s Prince Alexandre, who died last Sunday from a pulmonary embolism, took place yesterday morning, at 11am, at the Church of Our Lady in Laeken. King Farouk’s Eldest Daughter Buried in Cairo

Princess Ferial bint Farouk of Egypt was buried on Tuesday in the Al-Rifaai Mosque in Cairo, where she was laid to rest next to her father and her sisters, Princesses Fadia and Fawzia. The Princess died on Sunday after a long bout with stomach cancer in Switzerland. The funeral took place at night, and was attended by members of the royal family of Egypt and their friends. Royal Tributes to World War One Veteran, World’s Oldest Man – Henry Allingham

In the past week the last two surviving World War One veterans living in Britain have both passed away. “Matchmaker” to Beatrix and Claus Passed Away

The man who introduced Queen Beatrix to her future husband, Count Caspar von Oeynhausen-Sierstorpff, has passed away.   On new year’s eve 1962, crown princess Beatrix of the Netherlands first met Claus von Amsberg, who she would marry in 1966.
