Dutch Princess Beatrix has presented the 2016 Silver Carnations of the Prince Bernhard Culture Fund in a ceremony at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam. The awards are presented annually to individuals who have voluntarily worked to benefit the culture and nature of the Netherlands; Prince Bernhard, Beatrix’s father, started the Fund in 1950 and presented the awards each year until his 2004 death. Queen Letizia of Spain went to the Colegio de Arquitectos in Madrid on Monday to open an exposition named ‘Recognizing the Spanish Heritage in Europe’. The exposition focusses on the last 40 years of modern Spanish architecture in Europe.
