New Swedish Prince Named Alexander

In a special council meeting at the Royal Palace in Stockholm a short time ago, King Carl Gustaf announced that his newborn grandson has been given the name Alexander. Prince Alexander’s middle names are Erik Hubertus Bertil, and his grandfather bestowed upon him the duchy of Södermanland. The King of Sweden today was in the crowd at Albert Park to cheer on his countryman Marcus Ericsson in the Australian Formula One Grand Prix. Te Deum and Congratulations For Prince Oscar

The birth of prince Oscar has lead to a stream of congratulations for his parents and his big sister. In the afternoon there was a gun salute of 21 canon shots in Stockholm. New Stamps To Mark Swedish Anniversaries

The Swedish court released three special stamps to mark their two special celebrations of 2016. The king and queen will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary this year and on April 30th the king will celebrate his 70th birthday. Pregnant Princesses Steal The Show At Representation Dinner

Sweden’s pregnant Princesses, Victoria and Sofia, stole the show at this evening’s representation dinner at the Royal Palace of Stockholm.
