Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani, the deputy Emir of Qatar, and his wife Sheikha Al-Maha welcomed their first child yesterday. The couple, who were married in March 2012, are the parents of a son, Sheikh Tamim bin Abdullah. Sheikh Abdullah is a son of the former Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, and his third wife, Sheikha Noora bint Khalid Al-Thani.

Nothing has been officially confirmed by the prospective parents as yet, Princess Sophie is believed to be due to give birth in April.
