Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on Tuesday has named his half-brother, Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani, as his deputy. Sheikh Abdullah was head of the royal cabinet and in 2013 he became head of Qatar Investment Authority. Sheikh Tamim has not appointed a Crown Prince since he ascended the throne in June 2013.
