Madrid – November 25th King Juan Carlos I of Spain was discharged from the Chiron Hospital Universitario Madrid on Monday November 25th. The Spanish Monarch was admitted to the hospital last week and underwent successful surgery on his left hip. After visiting the sixth Dutch Caribbean Islands, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima paid introductory visits to Colombia and Venezuela. Denmark’s Princess Marie has added two new patronages to her portfolio, bringing her total to thirteen. The new patronages are in the fields of health and marine conservation, and previously had Prince Henrik, the Prince Consort, as their patron. A new painting of the Danish Royal Family was unveiled last week, ahead of its display at Amalienborg. Thomas Kluge, a Danish artist who has previously painted portraits of members of the family on numerous occasions, was the man commissioned to create the portrait.
