On Monday, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands attended the meeting ‘In vrijheid verbonden’ (united in freedom) in Utrecht. On January 21st Count Christian of Castell-Rüdenhausen passed away after a long illness at the age of 57. Count Christian will be burried tomorrow. Since 1982 the count lived in the castle of Twickel in Delden, The Netherlands. He inherited the castle from a great aunt, the last lady of Twicke, baroness Marie van Heeckeren van Wassenaer. His Majesty King Abdullah is scheduled to visit Spain today and meet with Spain’s King Juan Carlos, as well as with Spanish Prime Minister José Luis Rodri­guez Zapatero. King Abdullah is to hold talks on developments in the Middle East and efforts to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. King Abdullah will then leave for Switzerland, where he and Queen Rania will participate in the annual World Ecomonic Forum in Davos.
