    Prince Harry Current Events 8: September-November 2005

I don't think he'd make a very good soldier, either, but not because he wouldn't be physically competent. I just don't think he's constitutionally suited for it. Harry has always impressed me as being quite sensitive, the partying and clowning around creating a bluff facade for a much softer...

Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh Current Events 8: September-November 2005

I was thinking the exact same thing recently. Photos of the Royal Family seem to be showing them in very good spirits of late - the Queen, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, the Wessexes, they all seem extremely relaxed and happy. I hope that after quite a few rocky and tragic years...

    Will Charles Ever Reign?

Firstly, I'm an American, so excuse me if there's something obvious that I'm missing out on here... It's only that I've never really understood the basis for the calls for Queen Elizabeth to "retire" and for Charles to be removed (were that possible) from the succession. It seems as though in...

Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall: Visit to the US - November 1-8, 2005

Love Prince Charles' matching scarf pocket. That's a nice touch.

Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall: Visit to the US - November 1-8, 2005

Lady Marmalade, I couldn't agree more! I can't wait for more and better pictures, so we can see the dress in full. She looks spectacular! This trip should really put paid to those who have been keen to dismiss her as a frump. She's looked very smart indeed.

Oh my... how scandalous. Maybe merits its own separate thread? :D

Earl and Countess of Wessex Current Events 8: August-November 2005

The Countess is an exceptionally beautiful woman, and has turned out to be a real credit to the Royal family. How exciting it must be (at least for a history buff such as myself) to be a part of such ancient and historical orders as the Hospitallers - never mind that bit about the Crusades.

Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall: Visit to the US - November 1-8, 2005

Quite true, but in all fairness, I think it's safe to say she wasn't actually touching him (at least not in that picture), but probably making the sort of gesture that one often does when showing some sort of polite "following after" if that makes any sense. Let's certainly hope she wouldn't...

Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall: Visit to the US - November 1-8, 2005

Hilarious! The First Lady commits the ultimate party foul. I'm fairly certain official protocol prohibits grabbing the posterior of the future monarch. Silly Americans!

Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall: Visit to the US - November 1-8, 2005

Well, as much as it pains me to say so (not being a fan of the Bushes), the First Lady looked divine and it appears they threw a lovely fete. Have to agree that the Duchess, while looking perfectly nice, was maybe a bit more understated than I would like to have seen.

Here are a couple nice ones from today, credit Getty. They did look a bit stiff when posing with the Bushes (and I don't mean the ones with leaves).

Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall: Visit to the US - November 1-8, 2005

I love seeing these pictures of TRH... Prince Charles looks lighter and more carefree than I think I've ever seen him, and so often the two of them seem to be laughing or sharing a joke. The history is there, and it's disturbing to many people, but when that is all said and done, happiness is...

    It's A Girl - Infanta Leonor: October 31, 2005

With 18 pages of replies already, I hesitated to add another, but I suppose in events like the birth of a baby, well wishes are never really redundant. So I shall wish great joy to the Spanish royals, and a long and happy life for the Infanta. Congratulations! What wondrous news. Oh - and I...

Official Visit from the King and Queen of Norway: October 25-26, 2005

CP Mette-Marit looked gorgeous throughout the visit. Such a beautiful woman at any rate, and positively glowing in a series of very well-chosen ensembles. Not one misstep out of the lot. She was especially magnificent at the Guildhall banquet - breathtaking! She and CP Hakon are a lovely...

Official Visit from the King and Queen of Norway: October 25-26, 2005

BRAVO Camilla! My heavens! She looks fantastic! Although I too am amazed she wore the Delhi Durbar... I was certain she'd go for something more subtle. As it is, however, she seems to be saying "I've arrived," and in a very big way. Good for her.
