    Royals in New York City

Are there any members of currently-reigning European royal families who live in New York City? Or do any members of reigning European royal families plan to visit New York City in the remaining months of 2023? Thanks.

    The Value Of Monarchy

If you think that electing a head of state is a better method than having a Western European-style kind of queen, just look at the USA and think again.

    The United States and Monarchy

True for the first point. In the US, it seems as though it's almost mandatory to believe that the US is the greatest country in the world, though. I don't think that it is; it's done a lot of good in the world and its population lives well, but there are others that do a better job of...

    The United States and Monarchy

I agree on the first point. On the second: I'm a native-born American, but I think that the US has a LOT of room for improvement.

Which Country Could Become A Monarchy?

No, you misread my post-- Many of the "13 Colonies" kept their governor positions and legislatures once the US became independent. They kept the same basic arrangements for their executive and legislative branches both pre- and post-revolution. If you can't understand that, then you need to...

Which Country Could Become A Monarchy?

The United States has always been a republic, but: US states along the Eastern coast were provinces and colonies directly under the British crown (with a range of arrangements), and some of them basically have the same government structure as before 1776. Most of the rest of the country was...

    Monarchist and Republican Organisations

Monarchist parties would need to propose a solution to a problem that people have. Most people probably don't care if the head of state is a monarch or a president. Monarchist parties would need to show why changing to a monarch would directly affect people, for the better. It's an uphill...

Death and Funeral of King Michael, 5th & 16th December 2017

I was really sad to see Princess Margareta crying when the King's plane arrived. It shows that royals are humans, like the rest of us, but really made me sad. At least it's heartening to see such an outpouring of support for such a great man. Why can't we in the United States have a leader...

Death and Funeral of King Michael, 5th & 16th December 2017

Very sad. King Michael is surely first among the saints in Heaven.

Possible Dukedom for Harry and Meghan

I vote for "Duke and Duchess of Washington". Washington, DC WAS a territory ruled by the Royal Family, and nobody is currently claiming the title. Giving a duchy in North America, particularly a place where often-loathed US presidents live, would be a sign of hope for all of us that there is a...

King Michael and the late Queen Anne current events

Isn't the new arrangement sort of a restoration, and in some respects better than a restoration as previously envisaged by some? If I got a free palace, a staff paid for by the state, official recognition as being the Royal Family of Romania, with a state-recognized succession, and didn't have...

King Michael and the late Queen Anne current events

All of these people (King Michael and Margarita excluded) are trashy. It doesn't matter who might have done or said whatever.

Nicholas Medforth-Mills (formerly His Royal Highness Prince Nicholas of Romania)

Just how hard is it to be royalty? The basics: * Don't commit crimes * Don't behave immorally * Stay out of partisan politics Not hard to do! If these people can't follow those basic rules, they don't deserve royal status.

Nicholas Medforth-Mills (formerly His Royal Highness Prince Nicholas of Romania)

This whole situation is really just sad. King Michael is such a saint and perfectly behaved, and I wonder what went wrong in the family. I definitely raced to see my grandparents before they passed away, but if they had made it clear that I wasn't welcome, I wouldn't have.

Future and Popularity of the Spanish Monarchy

Doesn't King Felipe know that saying things that are highly partisan, when your country is in crisis, is a good way to result in the monarchy being abolished, and that staying totally neutral and quiet is sometimes the best approach? Maybe the former king of Greece could remind him.
