Oh how wonderful! Congratulations to them! I can't wait to hear the name.
 
Princess Leonore has Lilian as a middle name, so the little Prince may have Bertil as one of his middle names.

If Prince Carl Philip has a son, I can see him naming the baby Bertil in honor of his late great-uncle, as I always assumed that of the three royal children, he was the closest to Prince Bertil and Princess Lilian.

That was a wonderful surprise to come home to! Congratulations to Madeleine and Chris! :swedenflag: :baby:

The baby is, IIRC, first Prince in the family since Prince Carl Philip in 1979. I will always remember the day he was born on, because he shares a birthday with my little cousin. It seems as if the SRF are having a long weekend of celebrations at the moment, what an exciting time it must be for them.

It would be lovely if the little Prince had Bertil as one of his middle names.

I was convinced it was a girl and posted so the day of the wedding. I knew that baby would be born within days, Madde was enormous! OMG OMG I am soo happy she and Chris have a son. The king and queen must be over the moon, their first grandson!:ROFLMAO::p

Sorry, but I guess you missed it. It had started at 12 o'clock.

It doesn't have to be. The King and the government decides together. And this day is quite fully booked for the King according to their calendar + the parliament are debating and voting for this years budget today so the government is probably unavailable.

I still hope it will be before the end of the week but as it is midsummer week in Sweden, it won't be on Friday. I guess it will be on Thursday or next week.

Chris returned to Danderyd Hospital a little over an hour ago and carried a car safety seat so they are probably going home soon.

From what I read online Princess Leonore was born on the 20th February and they announced the name on the 26th February. I guess it depends on how long it takes to organise all the people to attend the Council meeting so it may be a few days before a name is released :)

The King and Queen also went to NY so they were out of the country. I believe there was also a weekend involved. Just be glad we do not have to wait months like in Denmark.

Ah thank you. I'm sure we will see a really radiant King because it's his first grandson.

Yes it does...the king will announce the names, first name, and the name they'll use to call the child as well as his titles...re when they're leaving hospital I don't know the court said yesterday that they'll be staying over night so they should be leaving at some point today
