Just watched a profile of Matthias Prinz who is the lawyer that is suing the German tabloids on behalf of the Swedish Royal Family. He is also involved in the case of Princess Caroline as well. He is what is called a "celebrity" lawyer. Works primarily in protecting the reputations of actors and athletes. It was pretty good. These cases even go to the European Courts of Justice in Strasbourg. Anyway, Germany has 25 tabloids which is far many than any other country. France has 5 they said and England even less but there the tabloids are very big so there's less room for competition as there is in Germany. Competition, Prinz said, is driving the editors to come up with more and more outlandish stories. They also use photo montages as well which is a seedy practice to begin with.
