I had never heard Princess Beatrice or Princess Eugenie speak before!!! This clip is quite old, (January 2002 I believe), but it's good, and the girls are cute. They both seem content to stand and allow their Mum to answer questions, and seem a little surprised when the photographer speaks to them...Beatrice seems to grow more confident throughout though! I hope to see these beautiful young ladies more in the future!

Thank you very much for that link, Britters! They all talk kind of differently than I imagined.

Britters 11-25-2003 04:34 PM

I htough (and no one shoot me for saying this!!!), that when Eugenie mumbled she has an accent very much like Kelly Osbournes! (ONLY WHEN SHE MUMBLED), but she was quite a doll!

moosey60 11-25-2003 08:48 PM

Lovely....Princess Beatrice sounded younger than Eugenie.

kittencrews 11-26-2003 12:31 AM

They are so cute...

I met Fergie a few years ago in Dallas, Texas.. she is hilarious... very funny... she's not fake at all and her daughters seem very nice also!

Here are pics of the Duke and Duchess' visit to Edmonton in 1987. It must have been in July. A friend of mine was a guide at the Legislature, thus I was able to get a great seat and was able to take some close-ups. Andy was more reserved when talking to the people but Sarah was absolutely charming and great with the kids..

Number One: Walkabout after signing the guestbook.

Number 2:
BTw I'd appreciate if my photos would only be accessible to LTR members.
Thanks. :)

is that really their photos?
it really doesn't look real. it looked like it has been cropped.
i'm no expert, but the angle and light simply doesn't look real.

These are great pics. Looking at these, its hard to believe that they have been divorced so long. If you didn't know any better, you would think they were a real family (which of course they are) but as a married couple. A true inspiration to divorced couples everywhere. It is possible to get pass the hurt and raise your children together!

Zonk 12-04-2005 07:58 PM

also..i am thinking the 2005 pic is the Christmas card.

Was last year's card the greyscale photograph of Beatrice and Eugenie that Sarah had put onto the front of her bag that she wore to the polo and another function?

Usually they can be found via photo agencies, via hellomagazine.com or sometimes they are published in the newspapers.

Martine 12-05-2005 04:49 PM

The greyscale picture was the 2002 Christmas card. I have a few other ones, but they are not on this computer, i'll try to find the again

Amy 12-16-2005 08:34 AM

The Yorks 2005 Christmas card is in todays Daily Mail newspaper and is on the website http://www.theroyalist.net/ . The photograph features Beatrice, Andrew and Eugenie and was taken by Sarah.

I just found these lovely pics of the family from Corbis:

Here Andrew escorts his daughters to Charles & Camilla's wedding. They're such a handsome family.

Second is a pic of Andrew, Sarah, and Beatrice at a memorial service for Sarah's father, Ronald Ferguson, in 2003.

Hope you enjoy them.

Thanks machievelli, its a stunning pic, isn't it?

I like the fact that it shows the three of them in profile. It give it a timeless quality that you don't get from frontfacing shots.

You are most welcome :flowers: :flowers: And yes, I did read it, it was said "last" as Bea and Eugenie were not expected to make any more holidays together with their parents, as to their age, simple speculations..;)
And as you can see these days, Bea actually is with her parents again during their skiing holidays..

Andrew has joined Sarah and Bea at Verbier, so I'll post the newest pics here:

jcbcode99 02-14-2007 11:45 AM

While I think it is very sweet that the Duke of York and the Duchess of York have maintained such a wonderful relationship since their divorce, I cannot help but be amused sometimes at what the future holds. If Andrew remarries, will Sarah lose her title? Will she still live with the family? If I were dating the Duke, I would have some misgivings about the set up of this situation. Also, as the children are much older now, I think it is time for Sarah to stop tagging along on skiing trips, etc.... It was always said she cared more about being a Royal than she did about Andrew, and frankly, she seems to enjoy the perks a little too much. Did anyone catch her on Letterman some time back when he asked how the girls were doing, and she said "Do you mean the Princessess?" I mean, COME ON. I admire that she dug herself out of debt, but isn't she set to release some tell-all book? That should win her votes with "The Firm".
Anyway, on another note, the Princesses are beautiful and Andrew looks just wonderful as well.

No. She will remain Sarah, Duchess of York.

She has always taken vacations with each daughter every year. It is not a perk. It is her way of giving them individual attention.
Quote:

This was her subtle way of saying that they are to be addressed as "princesses" and not girls. Whether it was rude or not, she wanted to make a point of that.
All of this has been discussed before, so I'm just drawing from past information posted on previous threads.
And I just proof read my post and it sounds a little snotty, and I don't mean for it to come off as such. So please to not take offense. I'm just short on time and wanted to get the post out.

jcbcode99 02-14-2007 02:09 PM

You don't sound snotty at all, so there is no need to apologize! So, would Andrew's new wife be the Duchess of York, too? Just wondering--

If that were true, it would contradict so, so many other things she has said, IMHO.

Sarah is/will be Sarah, Duchess of York. Andrew's new wife would be 'Name', The Duchess of York.

Andrew's wife would be HRH The Duchess of York. The HRH is the big difference, because Sarah lost hers when she divorced Andrew.

jcbcode99 02-15-2007 12:07 AM

I understand--the HRH coupled with The is a very big difference. That is the defining factor. I can see that. So, basically, if HRH Andrew, The Duke of York were to remarry, she would be, let's say just for fun, HRH Janet, The Duchess of York and Sarah would be Sarah, Duchess of York. The loss of the HRH and the The denotes that she has lost some serious ranking, correct? And, Sarah is now regarded as Sarah, Duchess of York and is no longer HRH Sarah, The Duchess of York or is she Sarah, The Duchess of York because she is the only one?
I read somewhere that she was doing some charity thing and that she insisted on being referred to as "Ma'am" and "Your Grace" or "Her Grace"--any truth in that?

So, not wanting to start any type of argument here and this is just for discussion sakes--Diana, upon her divorce lost the HRH and the The and became Diana, Princess of Wales. Now, would Charles' new wife have been referred to as, HRH Camilla, The Princess of Wales? As much as I like Camilla, that really does sound a little weird-but its her right to use, correct?

And, thank you for the explanations!

Janet (SIGH--not HRH Janet, The Duchess of York)

She is correctly, 'Sarah, Duchess of York' no The.

Whether she ever said this I don't know but it would still be the correct form of address - she is Your Grace/Her Grace but no longer HRH.

That would be, and technically is, the correct form of address minus the actual name - it is HRH The Princess of Wales - just as she is now using HRH The Duchess of Cornwall and Charles correct form is HRH The Prince of Wales - their names don't come into it as their is only one holding the real title, as opposed to the ex-title at any one time (Sarah, Duchess of York - indicates her divorced status).

I think HRH The Duchess of York would sound nice on someone - so why not you?

Sorry Janet, but you'd lose your name. He is HRH The Duke of York, so you'd rejoice in "HRH The Duchess of York".
At this stage, in accordance with the Queen's pecking order, you'd become the fifth Lady in the Royal Household after HM, Anne, Alexandra and Camilla, but ahead of Sophie.
For official State occasions you'd be third Lady in the Land after HM and Camilla. Good enough?

jcbcode99 02-15-2007 07:46 AM

Well, as fifth and third isn't anything to sneeze over, I think I would be willing to make the "sacrifice"!

Thanks Ice and Avalon for the pictures and the link. I think Sarah looks great with a little bit of color to her wardrobe. The long purple scarf was very flattering, imo. Pss Eugenie looked cute and stylish. Pss B . . . William gets more handsome every day!

iceflower 12-14-2007 11:54 AM

Thank you very much, Avalon, for the great additional pics!
Eugenie has surprised me with that new and nice look, I
found another very nice pic of her ice skating on Winter
Wonderland ice rink, Hyde Park, as it's been that same
evening, I post it here as well

Yorks' Christmas card 2007:

Incas 12-30-2007 11:51 PM

I think both photos are incredibly sweet. They all look very happy and relaxed together.

iceflower 12-31-2007 02:33 AM

Me too, I like those two pics of this year's Christmas card,
thanks a lot for posting the link, HighGoalHighDreams!

The interesting thing is that on these pics Eugenie and
Beatrice seem to have changed their "roles", whereas
Beatrice normally is in the foreground in public and Eugenie
looked mostly shy in the last years, it's completely different
on these pics, that also makes the pics very nice and
interesting

Bella 12-31-2007 09:35 AM

Thanks for posting, HGHD, but I don't like them. I don't like the lighting or the background. I don't think either photo is flattering to anyone. The 1st photo looks ridiculous w Pss Eugenie looking huge (and strange) up front and Pss Beatrice looking like her dad is holding her up. The 'adoring gazes' of the girls in the 2nd photo looks too cheesy. I dunno . . . maybe next year will be better.

iceflower 01-17-2008 11:18 AM

I wonder if the following pic of Andrew and his girls has
been posted before, I had not seen it before I've found it
yesterday, it was taken during the photo shooting for the
official family pic in December, I like the behind-the-scenes-
effect..

Rebafan81 01-17-2008 12:04 PM

Thank you everyone for the wonderful pictures.
Regardless of what anyone thinks of Sarah and Andrew personally, you really do have to admire how they have gotten along for the sake of their daughters. The girls seem like very happy well adjusted kids.
On another note, I can't believe how beautiful Eugenie has become. She has shed all her baby fat and has really become a very beautiful girl. I personally think she is prettier then her sister.

Bella 01-17-2008 01:06 PM

Thanks, Ice. I think Andrew looks adorable with that laughing smile. I wonder what he's saying. Pss Eugenie looks amused too. Not a good pic of Pss Beatrice, tho. Her teeth look like they are protruding from her mouth badly.

Thanks, Ice! They all look great (esp. P. Andrew!). Pss. E has slimmed down alot! I'm sure Sarah was there.

I personally think it's great that both Andrew and Sarah make sure their schedules are clear in order to take a vacation together with the girls. gives them a nice sense of family unity.:flowers:

After looking at the family pictures of the Duke and Duchess of York with their children it is stunning to see they keep in touch with each other the best one is when the Duchess gives Prince Andrew a kiss on the cheek in the snow while the girls look at the camera. Thanks Martine. I've seen other photos and see the Duchess still gets to go to some functions like the one horse race or show jumping and the Queen was their and so was Prince Andrew and her daughters. One photo showed the Duchess curtising and then give the Queen a peck on each cheek, one could just make it out from where they were by the royal box. Very touching. I really wish they could marry again to each other but it has been a long time now so I doubt they ever will.

Princess B 08-03-2008 06:37 AM

i think the yorks look so in love..wonder if they's ever get back?????
prince andrew seems to be a doting father..
all da pics are great

Yes, surprising to find these photos of Andrew on a PB and PE thread. He is quite a charmer, I never realised, I had previously thought him pretty egotistical.

iceflower 11-10-2008 12:07 PM

Two nice portrais of Sarah, Eugenie and Beatrice that were made
on the day they've given the interview for the documentary this
month:

I've always liked Andrew, and he's someone I'd like to see in person. Part of my reason for liking him is a story that I heard within my family of something very thoughtful that he did "off the cuff" while on an engagement here in Canada.:flowers:

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie suffer a "Marilyn Monroe moment" at th premiere of movie The Young Victoria | The Sun |News|Royals

Mermaid1962 03-06-2009 10:49 PM

I love Eugenie's dress. It's so delicate and feminine. I also like the colour of Beatrice's dress. Now, all they need to do is get some weights put in their hems. Go to see Super-Gran and see how it's done.;)

Mara Jade 03-10-2009 03:39 PM

THey are beautiful girls, and it's fun to see them in an unguarded moment. You would think though, that they would know by now to weight their skirts. It makes a funnier picture if they don't, though.

Lumutqueen 03-18-2009 01:21 PM

I love Beatrices Dress, Eugenies is feminine and delicate but maybe not for her.
A beautiful picture of the three i agree.

Incas 03-22-2009 11:07 AM

Talk about a storm in a tea cup. I assume the "Marilyn Monroe moment" was referring to the movie Seven Year Itch with MM's character standing over a subway vent. The one shot of the York girls was no where near the drama of the staged film scene. The Queen had a more revealing moment on a tarmac years ago. IMO, the fashion faux pas at the premiere was Emily Blunt's ill-fitted gown.

ghost_night554 05-26-2009 08:16 PM

You know I've always wondered who's eyes Beatrice has they're very round, compared to the rest of the Windsors. I don't know much about Sarah's family so I can't comment on that. What does everyone else think.

I was helping pack things in boxes because my parents are moving house and I just happen to look in a cupboard in their garage to see if anything needs to be unpacked when I found a treasure trove (spelling oops I think) of pictures I have collected over the years and forgot about them, they about 14 or 15 years old. When I get time I will scan them and post them if I can.
