Thank you for these photos, Julia. :flower: Ranier and Grace looked so happy together. I hope that I will be forgiven (and nobody will pass out from shock over this! :P ) but I don't know a lot about how Ranier and Grace met. It doesn't seem to me that a the Monagasque principality would've had a lot of mixing and mingling with Hollywood. How did Ranier meet and how did their love story play out.

Hi! I don't know how Rainier and Grace were introduced to eachother and by whom, but i do know that it was at the 1955 Cannes film festival in France. Prince Rainier happened to be there and he and Grace met. I am not sure however, if Grace met the prince while she was shooting To catch a Thief, (which was filmed in southern france/monaco). In a book i have about princess grace, it is said that they were introduced to eachother at cannes..and the prince also gave Grace a tour of his palace and principality. :P

Great pictures, everybody.
In looking at these, I am reminded of how much Grace and Ranier loved each other. Whenever I see pictures of their wedding I overlook or forget about how in love they were and get carried away by the grandeur and the beauty of the occasion. But from these last handful of pictures you can see how much in love they were by the way Ranier just looked at Grace. (sigh!) We should all be so lucky to have such a wonderful love experience in our lives. |
Grace and Rainier were very much in love and the proof that he loved her a lot was that he didn't fall in love again and how highly he always talks of her. :woot:

I am surprised at how much weight Princess Grace put on over the years. She was still a very beautiful women though. She just appeared to get very comfortable with herself as she got older.
