I realise that some of the links above are not work...therefore I corrected them as you read this message!

Here are the correct links:

(...and the above link that includes "kongpolav" is a pic of a young prince Olav ....later King Olav!) :flower:

Hello Elise,LadyofLancaster,
Just to let you know that Crown Princess Martha died before King Olav became king on June 22, 1958 so that she never was Queen Martha.

Elise,LadyofLancaster 08-05-2003 04:45 AM

My apologies...I got carried away with the word Queen....It is so early in the morning, I might becoming delusional....with insomnia!!! Not fun... Any way, Thanks... for clarifying that for everyone!

Great pictures Elise,LadyofLancaster, I love to see the history of royal families like you've shown. Look at that waist on Queen Maud. That looks like it would have hurt! B)

Does anyone have pictures of Maud's wedding dress/tiara?
Thank you.

Crown Princess Märtha of Norway, nee Princess of Sweden and Norway. There's a biography written about her in the Norwegian forum. She is standing in front of her husband, then Crown Prince Olav of Norway.

She's also wearing the emerald tiara that Sonja is so fond of.

BeatrixFan 04-04-2006 01:40 PM

Well I never. Thanks Norwegianne! I thought she was some British aristocrat but the tiara did look familiar.

norwegianne 04-04-2006 01:48 PM

Garter 04-04-2006 11:48 PM

Isn't she wearing the Emerald Tiara Queen Sonja wears often?

Could it be an ever younger Olav, or can it be his father as young? anyone who has ideas please write ....

Her_Majesty 10-09-2009 02:12 PM

Hmm, King Haakon's face shaped more ovally.
King Olav and King Harald both looked very similar when they were young. Their noses are shaped ina different way compared to the man in the picture...
I don't know who this could be.
Where did you find the picture?
Do you have any idea when the picture was taken?

I find the picture at home .... I always thought it was Olav as around the age of 15 .... here is another picture. Could it be king Haakon or a commoner as well you think?

And to think that just three days before Maud's death, in a small town in south central Ontario, Canada; a baby boy was born who would later change Canadian music forever! Osipi, you know who I'm talking about!
