Princess Mathilde's high patronage
Princess Mathilde grants her High Patronage to several associations working with vulnerable persons.
I've got the impression that it are quite a number of associations, let's take a look which ones it are exactly (unfortunately the website of the Belgian monarchy does not provide a list :() |

There's the asociation "Europa Donna" that fights against breast cancer in the member states of the EU.

VAGA, a Belgian asociation to help children who are born with a physical defect in their face.

Since Friday (today) princess Mathilde is allowed to call herself "special representant for children and aids". She accepted the function, that was offered to her by Unicef and Unaids.
Unicef is the children's organisation of the United Nations. The organisation received an honorary doctorate in Antwerp today. Unaids is the UN's program that fights aids, it's presided by Belgian Peter Piot. Mathilde will mostly be involved in projects that deal with the protection of orphans and the fighting of aids. |

A concert (30/11/2005) of Abdel Rahman El Bacha placed under Mathilde's high patronage : for the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the Centre d'Enseignement et de Traitements Diférenciés, a center where 120 youngsters with a motoric handicap get care and schooling. And also for the 25th year that the soundtherapy by the Methode Thys is being used.
