A nice video from BB:
VIDEO: Kronprins Frederik blev udfordret af børnene | Billed Bladet

Frederik spoke and motivated the children and then it was time for the children if they wished to ask Frederik some questions:

Q: Are you (informally - which neither F or M btw care about at all) good to exercise a little?

F: Good question. I think I'm pretty good to exercise. In some periods I exercise more than in other periods. But I have it in such a way that every time I go out and exercise it should preferably be fun and I actually think it's something I can get it to be. I think it's good to exercise and be physically active, so I have tried many different kinds of sports activities throughout the years. And I'm constantly curious to try some new things - even though I'm now 47 years old - but I think I get a lot out of it, and I do not think I will be too old to try new things - or it's clear that parkour is perhaps a little difficult for me (and everyone laughs)

Isabella 9 years old:
"It's so nice Frederik will come and see us and see what we do in everyday life."

The very proud founder of FitForKids, Pelle Plesner:
"It means we all together from across the country have been able to say a thousand thanks for the generous donation as the Crown Prince couple gave FitForKids back in 2011. It's always a great thing to be able to say thank you for something as some have given you. And the Crown Prince Couple's donation was a very big help at a time when it was very very needed."

The FitforKids children were allowed to ask Crown Prince Frederik questions and he responded them gladly:

Do your children like to do sports?
- Both my wife (informal) and I like to be active and so do our children too. So they have sport clothes on like you and they thinks it's good. They also like being active outside.

Are you good to exercise?
- In some periods I really like it, but it should preferably be fun even if it is raining and is bad weather. I usually is able to find something that motivates me and if I run it feels after about 500 meters good as I there have reached the limit where I am well underway. It is about thinking positively when you're training.

Which kind of exercise do you like best?
- I don't feel too old to try new things. Or perhaps parkour would be a little difficult for me at 47 years old. But football and road cycling I like a lot and also triathlon.

Frederik also told the children about the time he was a child:
- I can easily remember how it was when the longest pause came in the school. So everyone hurried out in the school yard and ran after each other, I remember we were playing catch-I.

Seems to have been a succecfuld visit at the FitForKids yesterday:

I can't resist posting these comments. And that's what a royal visit gives to a small voluntary association. A huge pat on the back and recognition as no else can give. If their future King visits them, they have done it quite well.

The association's founder Pelle Plesner writes on Facebook:
- It was a really big experience for me and for all of FitforKids children to meet our Crown Prince! We were very proud and happy and probably a little nervous, but Crown Prince Frederik is a fantastic and generous guest who made it a memorable experience for all FitforKids children, parents and teachers! Thank you for it!

Billedbladet's photographer Jesper Sunesen also commented (that rarely happens):
- I absolutely agree. A really good and lovely afternoon with whole Denmark's fantastic Crown Prince.

One of the FitForKids children's mother writes:
- It was a huge experience. I got a tired but very happy and proud boy home last night. Victor Madsen thinks we have a sweet and cool Crown Prince. Which I only can agree with. We are proud of our royal family !!

Overækkelse af The Bengt Saltin Award - Kongehuset

"The Saltin Symposium; "Exercise and Integrative Physiology" will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, June 2-4, 2015 in order to honour and commemorate the scientific work of Professor Bengt Saltin, who passed away in September of 2014. The aim of the symposium will be to encompass and highlight the major fields, in which Bengt Saltin made landmark contributions, from both a historical and an up-to-date cutting-edge scientific perspective."

"Crown Prince Frederik told during the presentation of The Saltin Award at Rigshospitalet, on his meetings with the man who has named the price.
Thursday. June 4, 2015 - Marianne Singer
- I actually met and had some good times with Saltin in 2002 and especially in 2004 when he was on his way to carry out field studies in the north-western Greenland ... And I would love to have done him company if not I just at the time was to marry."

Great that he has met the people beforehand

Roskilde 06-04-2015 02:34 PM

The event took place at the Rigshospitalet - where Mary has given birth to all their four children.

Frederik has meet Saltin before and it seems like he made a significant impression on Frederik:

CP Frederik during his speech talked about his own encounters with the man:
"I actually met and had some good times with Saltin in 2002 and especially in 2004 when he was in North-western Greenland on his way to carry out field studies. And I would love to have kept him company for longer if not for the fact that just at that time I was about to getting married."

A very nice clip:

Frederik starts the run:

TV2 video: Frederik gave a motivating (and improvised?) speech to all the children before he started the run:
Kronprinsen til Skole-OL: Gem mobilen væk og vær i nuet | Sportscenter

- Today, it's important to hide away your phone - and other things you usually fumbles with. Now it's about being present in the moment.

- It's a good moment to gather together. It's about performance that in the end matters most for yourself because you get something out of it. And finally you will go brighter and happier out of the stadium.

- The sport is invaluable. You get a clearer view of things. You think it's all going a little easier. And you get more profit. Then there follow a lot mentally with staying in shape.

I don't have time right now to translate the video and what more Frederik said. Other Danish members er welcome :)

Q: What about Frederick's own children? Is easy to get them to practice sports?

- It's clear that if it's falls you naturally to do sport and physical activity in general it's a pleasure to see that it rub off on your children and you don't necessarily need to 'kick them out of the bed'. Or to get them outside in the weekends, they do it pleasantly themselves and enjoy it.

Q: What discipline would Frederik prefer to participates in if he attended school Olympics?

- Oh haha. Yes, what would I choose, I think I actually would try to throw. I was relatively good to that. I practiced also sports here at this stadium when I went to primary school, so it's fun to be back.

Frederik was received like a rock star of the 7,600 sport happy school children from 320 Danish school classes.

:previous: Thanks, Roskilde. :flowers:

Summary of article in Billed Bladet #24, 2015.
Written by our sports reporter Ulrik Ulriksen.

Frederik went to the town of Taastrup, where he visited Selsmose school, where there was an excersize event for the volunteer organization FitforKids.

FitforKids very much aim at more or less obese children. The purpose being to getting the children to become physically active, thus losing weight and getting healthier and as a bonus get more self esteem.
Frederik was shown around and saw the children running around burning calories and being the man he is, he also easily interacted with the children who asked him questions.
That meant he talked about himself, what sport and healthy living means to him and so on.
Among other things he said: "If I am to say so myself, I believe I'm very good at training. Each time I have to go training, it should preferably be fun. I have tried all sorts of different sports and I'm very curious even though I'm 47 years old".

He told the children how important it to be physically active and eat healthy if you want to feel good and be glad and he told the children he thought they were cool.

He added: "I don't think I'm too old to try something new. Obviously something like parkeour is perhaps a little difficult for but otherwise I'm pretty open.
But, well, I still like to play soccer and road cycling (I.e. like Tour de Epo... sorry, Tour de France) that I like and I've started on triathlon. It gives me many happy hours.
I was fond of being active when I was a boy. It was great to be in school and running around in the recess and even though I went to school in downtown Copenhagen and we had a school yard that wasn't very spacious, it was still fun just to get out and play catch. I still recall that clearly as something that made me glad.
My own children like to do excersize and both I and my wife (informal word) like to come out and get the blood running.
Our children often see me and my wife (informal) put on the sports clothes and whizz away on a trip across fields and roads and I can sense that the children think it's good that we do it. And they certainly like too to be out running.
If you ask them yourself, they think they are really good and fast runners.
And just like you they are also glad to go outside and play or have a fun time like here in a gymnasium (*).
The more children your are together, like your classmates, the more fun they think it is. Just like you do.
And then they along with the classmates start a round of softball or soccer for example".

Frederik was met and followed with great and big enthusiasm by the children, all the way out to the car in fact! Just before reaching the car a boy came up to shake his hand.

(*) Oddly enough the English word for a hall where you perform calisthenics, a gymnasium, is the Danish word for a high school.

Today, Frederik presents the ELFORSK Research Prize in connection with the 'Energy Summit 2015', Copenhagen.

The Energy Summit is an annual event that focuses on energy and green solutions.

First pictures:

Today, we have general election here in Denmark and the media are filled to the brim with it, so today's event may of course be quite overshadowed by that.

But even there's election Frederik can easily do his work as Frederik and the rest of the Danish royal family do not vote and are (official) nonpolitical.
