Princess Eleonora of Brazil was born in May 20, 1953, in Jacarezinho, Paraná, she's the eighth child and second daughter of Prince Pedro Henrique (1909-1981), Head of the Brazilian Imperial House, and Princess Maria Elizabeth of Bavaria (1914-2011). Her Royal Highness is graduated in History, by the Pontificial Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. Prince Michel de Ligne was born in May 26, 1951, in the Chateau de Beloeil, in Belgium, as the firstborn son of Prince Antoine of Ligne (1925-2005) and Princess Alix of Luxembourg (b. 1929). With the death of his father, in August 21, 2005, His Royal Highness became the 14th Prince of Ligne. Princess Eleonra and Prince Michel married in the Church of Our Lady of the Glory of the Hill (Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Glória do Outeiro), on March 10, 1981. They have two children: 1. Princess Alix of Ligne, born in 1984. 2. Prince Henri Antoine, Hereditary Prince of Ligne, born in 1989. The Princely couple lives in Belgium, at Chateau de Beloeil. |

Today, she's celebrating her 29th birthday. Born in Brussels, Belgium, she's the second child and first daughter of Prince Antônio and Princess Christine (neé Princess of Ligne). Her Royal Highness graduated in Architeture, at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. Currently, she's living in Spain, where she works as an architet. Her Royal Highness is the fifth in the Line of Succession to the Brazilian Throne. |

Rafael Antônio Maria José Francisco Miguel Gabriel Gonzaga was born in Rio de Janeiro. He's the second son and third child of Prince Antônio of Brazil and his wife, Princess Christina of Brazil (née Princess of Ligne). Raised in Petrópolis, "the Imperial Citiy", now he lives in Rio, where he works as an engeneer. Since the death of his older brother, Prince Pedro Luiz, in 2009, Prince Rafael is fourth in the Line of Succession to the Brazilian Throne. |
Today we celebrate the 69th birthday of Her Royal Highness Princess Isabel of Brazil.
Isabel Maria Josefa Henriqueta Micaela Gabriela Rafaela Gonzaga, born in La Bourboule, France, during the Exile of the Brazilian Imperial Family, was the first daughter, and fourth child, of Prince Pedro Henrique (1909-1981), Head of the Imperial House of Brazil, and Princess Maria Elizabeth of Bavaria (1914-2011). Princess Isabel's godmother was her namesake, the Countess of Paris (née Princess Isabel of Orleans-Braganza; 1911-2003). After the end of WWII, the Imperial Family was finally able to return to Brazil. Initially, they lived in Petrópolis, then moved to Rio de Janeiro. In 1951, Prince Pedro Henrique acquired a farm in Jacarezinho, Paraná, again, moving with his Family. Princess Isabel studied German and French Languages and Civilizations, at the Universities of Paris and Munich. Returnig to Brazil, in 1966, she worked as Social Worker and was President of the Brazilian Red Cross. In 2004, she was made Honorary Citizen of the State of Rio de Janeiro. Curently, Princess Isabel is the 9th Line of Succession to the Brazilian Throne. She lives between her apartament in Rio and the Imperial Family's farm in Vassouras (in the State of Rio de Janeiro). Her Royal Highness is unmarried and childless. |
