BBC is currently reporting live from the Olympic Stadium, currently it looks like a farm. One hour and 35 minutes to go people! Steve Redgrave is sat in the studio at the minute.
Some pictures not great quality, |
Thanks Lumutqueen = just spotted the geese and shire horse. Brilliant!
The geese and horses...I cannot wait to see where THAT is going.
The Red Arrows!
A magnificent display, as always. Absolute perfection. |

They were too. I've watched at least 5 flypasts since the beginning of the year, and the Red Arrows (along with other aircrafts) amaze me every time. Apparently, everyone will have a part during the Opening Ceremony - spectators included. They are learning their parts right now (according to London2012). How cool is that? DON'T LOOK IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS. A picture of the stadium. Looks like the "good old England" that most people abroad still associate with Britain. You know, the Britain of small cottages, greenery, traditions. |
Does anyone know where those of us in the U.S. can watch it live?
^ I've been looking, but I haven't found any live links yet.
Thanks for the pictures everyone! It all looks amazing. I can't watch to watch the opening. |
Oh no its started to rain in London
Same question here but for Portugal?
I've woken early to watch the Opening Ceremony LIVE broadcast on TV. The set looks very charming.

Spotted William, Catherine and Princess Anne from the British Royals in photographs so far. There are of course others there, but the main contenders for camera opportunities will definitely be the Cambridges and Harry.
Enjoy everyone!

Here we go, London 2012!
So glad we've got some of Sir Edward Elgar's Nimrod to start us off - the most beautiful piece of music ever composed.
I love the "weather report". Love the countdown for the last minute.
Industrial Revolution to the full blown digital age, here we go!
Eastenders, really? Bradley Wiggins, ey? That child must be scared out of his mind! Songs from Scotland, NI, Wales and Jerusalem for England. |
