State Visit from Turkey to the Netherlands; April 17th-19th, 2012

The official programme of the state visit has been released:



On April 17, the President of Turkey, Mr Abdullah Gül and his wife will be welcomed by Queen Beatrix at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam.

After the welcoming ceremony the President will attend a wreath laying ceremony at the National Monument on the Dam.

In the presence of Queen Beatrix, Crown Prince Willem-Alexander and Crown Princess Máxima Mr Gül will open an exhibition at the Amsterdam Museum about the early trade between Netherlands and Turkey.

Together with CP Willem-Alexander and CP Máxima Mr Gül will meet representatives of Dutch and Turkish businesses at the conference center De Bazel.

Mrs Gül will visit the Museum of Bags and Purses together with Princess Margriet.

Mr Gül, CP Willem-Alexander and CP Máxima will attend the Dutch-Turkish Bussiness Forum at the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam.

In the evening a state banquet will be given at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam.



On April 18, the President will meet students at the The Great Industrial Club in Amsterdam and together with his wife he'll visit the Weekend Academy, a project of the Orange Fund. Mr Gül will attend meetings with various politicians, followed by a government lunch attended by Queen Beatrix.

Mr Gül will then visit the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.

In the evening there will be a concert of Turkish Youth Philharmonic Orchestra attended by the presidental couple, Queen Beatrix, Crown Prince Willem-Alexander, Princess Margriet and Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven.



On April 19 the Queen, the President and his wife will visit the Floriade in Venlo, attend a lunch in Maastricht and open an exhibition at the Bonnefantenmuseum. After a farewell ceremony the couple will depart from Maastricht airport.

Princess Maxima looks stunning, of what we can see :smile: and it's seems that Queen Beatrix have a new haircut :smile:

I like Maxima´s makeup and headpiece, we saw that before though.

TBH, considering the palace has been quite nicely restaured 2 years ago, you would think that somebody would have the sense to make some better grouppictures during these state visits. The grouppictures are looking quite odd and aren't very flarrering on anybody. And another pity is that we can't see full pictures of the ladies dresses.

I wish Máxima would put her hair up when she is wearing a tiara and perhaps would easy up on the amount of make up that she uses.

There were an extrordinairy amount of security measures for the Turkish president btw. No people were allowe don balconies etc. around Dam square.

HM Queen Beatrix will visit Turkey again from june 13th till june 15th 2012.

The Queen will be visiting Ankara and Istanbul and attend a performance by the Nederlands Dans Theater while there.

It will not be a State Visit.
