Queen Margrethe II & Prince Henrik's Official Visit to Bahrain; Feb. 3rd-6th, 2011

DR1 informs us that QMII and Prince Henrik will go on an official visit to Bahrain from 3-6. February. Here they will visit King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Bahrain has a population of 750.00 of which about one third are foreigners. The emphasis of this visit are the long term cultural, archaeoligical and historical co-operation between Denmark and Bahrain. (Didn' the Niebuhr expedition pass through Bahrain)? There are more than 10.000 buriel mounds from a long distant culture in Bahrain, something that should make QMII's mouth water! |

Thursday 3 February Common Curriculum Cl. 12.45 The official reception of royal couple in Gudaibiya Palace by HM the King. Cl. 13.00 Official meeting between the Queen and HM The King. Cl. 17.30 Tour of the National Museum in Manama. Cl. 18.30 Reception for the Danish community in Bahrain,. Cl. 19.30 Visit Site Museum Bahrain fort, Qala 'Al-Hahrain who exhibits the archaeological development from year 2500 BC and up until today around Qala' Al-Hahrain. Friday 4 February HM the Queen's program Cl. 09.30 Visit Site Museum and Qala 'Al-Hahrain. Cl. 11.15 Visiting Barbar Temple which dates to between 2500 - 1800 BC HRH the Prince Consort's program Cl. 10.00 Prince Consort visit AP Moller terminals, port area and Master Tower. Common Curriculum Cl. 19.00 Visit the city Muharraq. The royal couple will tour in traditional houses in particular Ebrahim Shaik Center and auditorium and Abdulla Al Zayed House for Bahraini Press Heritage. Cl. 20.00 Dinner at Bin Matar House. Saturday 5 February HM the Queen's program Cl. 09.30 Visit at Buri burial mounds. Cl. 10.00 Visit to Ali barrows. HRH the Prince Consort's program Cl. 09.30 Visit at Al Areen Palace, where there are guided tours of the Royal Stables. Prince Consort beser stall Arabian horses. Cl. 10.40 Visit the Formula-1 racetrack. Common Curriculum Cl. 12.30 Guided tour of Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company. Cl. 13.10 Royal Couple press conference. |
- At the invitation of King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark will arrive here tomorrow on an official visit to Bahrain, the Bahraini Royal Court has announced. In a statement issued today.

Thank you ladies for the lovely photos. Her Majesty looked lovely in pink and wore the Connaught 3 pearl bar brooch. Then at the museum she wore the French fluer-de-lis brooch. Looks like she presented King Khamad al Khalifa with the Order of the Dannebrog. Would that be right?
