Prince Joachim gave an interview with the Asthma-Allergy Association about his own allergies.

I think we all kinda forget that Prince Joachim works very hard and has a lot of patronages and trade duties although he rarely gets the press coverage. He is also a successful businessman and large-scale farmer.
I would like to see more coverage on his duties

Prince Joachim has been Patron for a while now.

When did Joachim appear at this event? Was this the event from earlier this week? His speech was very impressive.

I have no idea. Picture on one site date 2008.
Next event is August 24, 2009 which will be a gala dinner, its on the calender.

This will be just before her festival in Tonder. Will she just be opening the Tonder event - no formal gown, dinner, etc.?

Joachim is Patron of this event

Is this a new patronage for Prince Joachim? I don't recall him attending this event in the past.

Is he going alone?

According to the calendar entry on the DRF's official calendar, he is the only royal scheduled to attend this event.

All we know is that it is on Joachim's list of patronages. It is difficult to assess how long he's been patron of this event. After reviewing old threads, I noticed there was a significantly greater number of events posted about Alexandra's compared to the quantity posted about Joachim. I think, however, this doesn't reflect on the number of his activities.

Well, he does run a farm as well, doesn't he, or administers it. That takes up time I'm sure.

Joachim is Patron & Marie will be attending along with Joachim to the event.

I'm not quite sure whether Princess Marie is Patron as well, it's not listed
in her patronages list on the official website of the Royal Family, and
- which caught my attention - you can also translate the event description
in a different way: "Prince Joachim involved as Patron will attend together
with Princess Marie.." - so that's not quite clear..

Joachim is heading a fundraiser for the purpose of financing a trip around the world for the shool ship Danmark.
Marie has been with him onboard the ship before.

Danmark was build in 1930's as steel hulled, full rigged, tall ship, after one of her predecessors, København = Copenhagen, disappeared with all hands somewhere off Greenland.
During WWII, she served with the US Coast Guard as a school ship.

She has since her construction trained countless officer cadets for the merchant fleet.

I hope there will be raised enough money for her to sail around the globe. She is a beautiful ship and an excellent ambassador for Denmark and for a career as a ships officer.

ADDDED: This is about København = Copenhagen, the other ship that vanished in 1928.
Not off Greenland as I wrote but on the way to Australia, with 45 cadets and 15 other crew members.
