I love her white and blak DVF dress. It´s lovely and perfect for summer. The cut would look fine on a pregnant woman, but it isn´t a maternity dress, so it looks better on a non-pregnant and slim woman.
I love those empire dresses, they look good both on very thin women (cause they make them look fuller) and fatter women (cause they doesn´t look so full in them):flowers:

biboquinhas 07-29-2010 07:29 AM

well perfect for summer I don't think so because of the colours, but ti si a lovely dress and Princess Mary seams to like it a lot!

ANNIE_S 07-29-2010 08:35 AM

:previous: You´re right about the colours, but the weather in Denmark isn´t as sunny as in Spain or Portugal. Black colour attract sun light, and there it was quite cloudy ;)

Yes this dress looked good when Mary wore it back in spring 2007 when she was pregnant with Isbella yet it still looks good on her now at this photoshoot

bertie5252003 07-29-2010 02:59 PM

Love it and the shoes cute cute .....

Dierna23 07-29-2010 06:06 PM

Well, it's a very pretty dress, but I'm not sure if black is the color to wear for a photo call in summer.

mayzie 07-29-2010 11:19 PM

Princess Mary pregnant?

I know I shouldn't be starting this...
But, with the loose fitting dress and she didn't look too well during the photo shoot morning sickness?)...and CP Frederick's protective arm around her...

Madame Royale 07-29-2010 11:34 PM

Could perhaps be reading into it, mayzie. None of the above occured to me, personally. And looking back at the photo's, it still doesn't...;)

Lumutqueen 07-30-2010 11:05 AM

Seeing as the dress is not pictured here.

Frederik always has an arm around Mary at events like these, also Mary looks happy and suntanned from her recent holiday. It's warm in Denmark atm, loose fitting dresses are needed.

I do love this dress, haven't seen it since she wore it when she was pregnant.

4Pam 07-30-2010 03:26 PM

I love the dress too. I think it's very pretty. I really like the design.

Sereta 07-30-2010 03:50 PM

Nice dress, it's fine for summer.

rsfc149 07-30-2010 04:30 PM

It looks a bit to big for her. And since this is a summer photoshoot I would have expected her to wear something more colourful. To be honest, I would like her to wear Isabella's skirt ;)

I love the second outfit and hair. Very nice, natural look. Nice shoes!

Love the bag at Lego Land ..... not sure about the jacket all in all nice relaxing summer stuff

ANNIE_S 07-31-2010 02:26 PM

I love the ruffled top she wore at the changing of guards. Do you know what brand or designer it is from, and if it is sleveless (I can´t see it with the cardigan)?

princess gertrude 07-31-2010 10:51 PM

The ruffled top is quite lovely with the cardigan. She looked relaxed and stylish. Annie S, you can find those tops just about anywhere these days. If you shop on line, you can find them at Banana Republic, Francesca's any of the bigger named department stores here in the US.

The dress is really cute. But don't they both look too casual for press conference? Frederick, shave your beard!;)

It's not a press conference, it's a photoshoot.

missjane 08-01-2010 08:32 PM

Love the ruffled top. It makes the outfit just that bit more feminine. really pretty outfit today, and her hair looks nice too.

Totally agree with you!! He looks SO handsome with the beard!!!!
Please Frederik don't shave yourself ever again!!:lol:

Sereta 08-09-2010 07:41 PM

I prefer him with a beard too. It makes him look older and less baby faced.
I like Mary's first casual outfit. I don't like the orange shoes tho.

Katelle 08-10-2010 07:51 AM

Orange is hardly Mary's color indeed yet I think that she loves it, and sweet casual "ugly" ballerinas do less harm than a dramatic New Year's Eve gown. :biggrin:

Opal 08-10-2010 05:44 PM

Love the ruffled blouse. Makes the casual outfit a bit more stylish looking.

Are you referring to sunglasses? You can find a number of photos of her sunglasses at this thread: http://www.theroyalforums.com/forums...08-a-2274.html

You may want to look at this link as well: Billed-Bladet - STILfinderen: Marys flotte Chanel-solbrille
It's about Mary's Chanel sunglasses.

If you or others wish to learn some details about clothes, bags and so on worn by members of the DRF I suggest you look here: Billed-Bladet - STILfinderen Stilfinderen = the style finder.

You can also mail Stilfinderen yourself and ask questions: stil@billed-bladet.dk
In English, but explain that you do not mind that the reply will be in Danish if your queston is answered in the magazine and later on the website.
You will not get a personal reply.
Remember also to include your name and a city/country.

It has actually happened that foreigners have had their questions answered, so it may be worth a try, right? ;)

And here is a fashion dictionary you may find handy:
Solbriller = sunglasses.
Kjole = dress.
Nederdel = skirt.
Bluse = blouse.
Sko = shoes.
Stilletter = stilletos.
Halskæde = necklace.
Smykke = jewelry.
Taske = bag.
Bukser = pants.

Her sunglasses in the second don't look right on her face. I'm not sure why. . maybe they're too big or something.

Glad to see she is not wearing the same pants from the fashion show! The top looks better with the jeans.

almee 08-19-2010 02:18 PM

The blouse looks alot better this time around with the jeans. I must admit, the black pants didnt look good. Now, she looks really lovely & relaxed.

Helen Anna 08-22-2010 01:51 PM

Does CP Mary wear mostly Danish fashion brands? I appreciate her style, she's always very elegant but i think that she's conservative.

It's so true! Scarfs are just a great addition to almost every outfit.

Katrianna 11-27-2010 12:07 AM

I think of all the Crown Princesses, Mary wears has the most variety and really knows how to wear scarves to their advantage.

monic 11-27-2010 01:49 PM

Personally scarves are my favourite additions to women's outfits and I agree with Katrianna with regard to Mary's good sense of how to wear them and which ones to wear. The pink one is awesome and she doesn't look bad in the spotted one though I'm personally not fond of this type. :smile:

rubies 11-28-2010 08:30 AM

I also love all kinds of scarves, from wraps to a printed silk. I think it can make any simple outfit classy.
If I lived in Denmark where it seem so terribly frigid so often I would have a grand collection!!! Mary looks gorgeous in scarves!!

NoorMeansLight 11-28-2010 11:43 AM

It is amazing indeed what a scarf can do, especially if you know how to wear them! And Princess Mary can wear them really well! Thanks for the gallery! :smile:

I wonder if the pants are black, navy or dark grey? I can see all three colours, depending on the picture.

I also agree with too much make-up, esp the blush. Also the lipstick is too strong.

All in all, I was hoping she would wear something in lighter colour, not black (if, in fact, it's black). But it's me.

Dierna23 01-14-2011 02:15 PM

I love the ruffled blouse, though it makes her look quite matronly and I don't think it's a perfect combo together with the long cardigan material- and color-wise.
The make up is too heavy for my taste, but all in all she looked good and appropriate. Lovely earrings.

agami.pearl 01-14-2011 02:59 PM

I really like how CP looked today. The pants and cardigan are really nice, blouse is a nice touch of color. Whole ensemble is appropriate for occasion and weather. The make-up was too heavy, especially blush and dark lipstick.

ANNIE_S 01-14-2011 03:29 PM

The outfit is ok.
The blouse is lovely.
But Imo the whole look is too dark with the black pants and cardigan. I wish she had worn another colour.

lancchick 01-14-2011 05:07 PM

I don't recognize the blouse. Does anyone know if she's worn it before?

For just giving birth less than a week ago, she's looks fantastic. She might be self-conscious about weight gain I'm just not liking how Mary looks like she's swimming in her clothes. Generally, wide leg pants look best with a fitted, cropped jacket. The coat/sweater also looks too big for her.

Terri Terri 01-14-2011 05:40 PM

Considering that this woman gave birth to twins 6 days ago, with one of the babies (the girl) being a breech birth, breastfeeding 2 babies at the same time, and having one of the babies being treated for jaundice...on top of all that, she had to face hundreds of cameras and spectators...I say she looks absolutely fantastic!

almee 01-14-2011 05:42 PM

Mary looks really beautiful. I love the wide leg pants and the colour of the blouse is really lovely for Mary. She looks radiant!!

Nice outfit and Mary is looking great after giving birth to twins a week ago. The makeup was just a bit too heavy.

4Pam 01-14-2011 08:31 PM

I think Mary looks great for someone who had twins 5-6 days ago. I have no complaints on what she's got on.

greenways 01-14-2011 08:39 PM

Mary looks lovely to me, she looks quite tired, anyone who's had a baby knows you feel deeply tired, to the bone. It worsens as the week's go on because you are up night and day, feeding. Mary has two!! I've tried that trick of putting heaps of makeup on when bone tired, you think it will help you feel better. It doesn't seem to work, just draws more attention to your pallor! Having said that, bravo to Mary, love her outfit.

Plus, hospital lighting and mirrors are not the best while trying to apply makeup-----especially knowing that everyone will be picking it all apart once you leave the room. I personally think she looked great for a new mother of twins and breast feeding. I don't care if she does have help, it is still work and one gets tired extremely fast. Plus the normal woman in that position doesn't have cameras in their face to record their lack of sleep. Quite a lot of new mothers leave the hospital these days without even bothering to apply makeup. Mary looked great.

I agree with the blouse. I do however think the make-up was too much. The natural look she sported when she took Princess Isabella home was more flattering on her and her post-pregnancy figure.

yes, a lot of mothres lives hospital without make up becasue they do not have red carpet in the way out with hundreds of people waiting to see them or hundreds of photographers!

Katrianna 01-14-2011 11:55 PM

To me, Mary looked great although I thought her trousers were a wee bit too long.

missjane 01-15-2011 12:17 AM

I am so happy to be back onto the daytime fashion thread! A guilty pleasure for me.
I am pretty sure that the cardigan is navy and its the one she wore when visiting tasmania last year. If someone could post a link? It was worn with jeans and a grey crossover sweater underneath.
I think the combo is really pretty and comfortable and, most importantly, Warm!!! Her makeup looks lovely and appropriate, she is facing the worlds press after all. It gives her colour. I was really thrilled with how good she looks.

Yeah she could've done without the lipstick and the excessive red blusher but she still looked amazing.

I loved her pants and her outfit. It's Frederik's pants that should be in question. It looked like he had tight skater jeans on. Not that it was a problem for me. Just wish Princess wasn't in the way of the full pants shots.:whistling::tongue::tongue:

mes 01-15-2011 04:37 AM

Princess Mary looked so happy, as did Prince Frederick. It seems to me that no matter what she does someone will always find fault. The make up - or lack of is irrelevant. Their happiness just says it all.

bertie5252003 01-15-2011 12:43 PM

I thought she looked fabulous and though I didn't notice the makeup now you all point it out yes heavy but she looked totally gorgeous and doubt I appeared anywhere near that leaving with my babies. She does I will say always have problems with triusers are these too long too wide anyway it is not relevant I guess.She's just wonderful in her "little bubble"... and good luck to them.

NoorMeansLight 01-15-2011 01:11 PM

I like the long cardi and the ruffled blouse but separately - their colours don't match.;) The make-up is almost comical, I suppose she didn't receive professional help yesterday. I liked her hair though.:flowers:

Remember to post a photo of yourself, when and if you give birth to twins. ;)

A pregnancy changes a woman, a double pregnancy changes her twice! But I know Mary will be back to normal and she'll be as glamorous as before or even more. :smile:
Take Rania as an example. She's got four kids and looks as if she were 25 instead of 40. I heard the more babies a woman has the prettier she is. Mary has a chance to prove this but she needs some time; she's almost delivered babies..
She looks very trim and radiant; her choice of clothes was appropriate to theyesterday event. Although I think the trousers were too loose I realise that she may not have wanted to show some dispensible kilos after her pregnancy. Trully understandable. :smile:

I don't mind the rosy blush, she is always so pale to me. Maybe the purple shadow is a bit more evening. Nice outfit IMO.

Same old procedure is starting in the Danish threads again, as soon as an opinion doesnt contain the full load of praise its being questioned :whistling:
An opinion is a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty, its about agree or disagree, not about being right or wrong.

On the pictures I've seen I think Mary's makeup is far too heavy, at least for my taste (one example below), of course other posters are free to have a different view.

I love the colour of the top and the long jacket that Mary wore.
She looks so happy and really great for having just given birth to twins.

Lucky us not to have a hundred cameras in our faces six days after giving birth, so all our family friends and and the not so friendly could get the microscope out to check that every fine detail meets with their approval and if not make sure others know exactly what is not right in their opinion.

Her makeup is much heavier than normal, but she doesn't look like an old clown. That's unnecessarily harsh. Is it too much? Yes, I don't care for it, but she looks beautiful in spite of how much she has on.

I think Mary is tired of being a fashion icon and is making the transition to "mum of four". This outfit is very royal, actually, in the British sense. It's very like Diana's 1980s wardrobe. The British royals don't keep up with fashion particularly. Mary is right to focus on the babies and not her hair, makeup and particularly smart in making sure that her clothes aren't the focus. Good on her. Ditto Fred and his red pants.

Yes the make up was really, really heavy. Altough I agree hospital lighting sucks, I guess, introducing her twins to the world is a good ocassion for having your personal stylist over and help you with that

She looks great after having twins no doubt about that. :flowers:

That outfit thought was not her best look yet. Oh well even she has some misses :lol:

Mary looked lovely. I do like that long cardigan worn instead of a coat. The top was a lovely shade, door some reason I do like the detailing on the front, doesn't make it look boring IMO.
Her make up might be a bit too much but I do still like it, it could be not to show how tired she is.

I think so to; that is what you tend to do.
I went to a confirmation five days after I had my second child. I am not fond of revisiting photos from that event. I was convinced that a 'generous makeup' could easily conceal that I was still puffy in the face and had not slept even 3 consecutive hours for 5 days ;)

I think CP Mary wore the same cardigan as she did in Australia before:

I absolutely love the cardigan! Can someone ID it?

I agree with you Duke, if we all just had the same opinion, there would be no fashion thread, only an ohh and ahh thread!! So keep talking!!:biggrin:

I too have found myself trusting hotel (etc) lighting only to see pics later and say.......:ohmy:!!

AnnaNotherThing 01-16-2011 04:51 PM

We all know how much this family can cram into a day and how much pre-planning must be done to make the most of this time...So I wouldn't be surprised if her makeup was done in the hospital with the intention that formal family of six photos be taken on arrival home...So the makeup applied was makeup suitable for photos, we will see I guess if she is wearing the same pink ruffled top...?
