You're welcome Danielle. :)
Yes, indeed - those are some of less known details from CP Aleksandar's biography. Here is a short quotation:

...On 17 July 1945 while living in Claridge's Hotel Queen Alexandra gave birth to a son - HRH Crown Prince Alexander II of Yugoslavia. As the heir to the throne at that time had to be born on Yugoslav soil the British Government under the orders of the Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill declared suite 212 in Claridge's Hotel Yugoslav territory. His Holiness Patriarch Gavrilo of Serbia baptized the newborn Crown Prince in Westminster Abbey. His godparents were King George VI and the then HRH Princess Elizabeth now HM The Queen Elizabeth II...

...HRH Crown Prince Alexander II was educated at Le Rosey (Switzerland), Culver Military Academy (Indiana, USA), Gordonstoun School (Scotland) and Millfield (England)...

Regarding the Royal couple attending Prince Charles' wedding - I believe there is no doubt about it. As far as I am informed they did attend almost all Royal weddings in the past, the one of Prince Charles and Lady Diana as well. I wish there are much photos available online - nevertheless I'll keep searching and will post them here if my search turns out successfully. :)

THE CONFERENCE GREECE, SERBIA AND MONTENEGRO PARTNERSHIP INITIATIVE CLOSED IN ATHENS WITH GREAT SUCCESS

Athens, 10 February 1005 – The conference “Greece-Serbia and Montenegro Partnership Initiative” ended in Athens today. It was organized by the humanitarian organization Lifeline Hellas under the patronage of HRH Crown Princess Katherine, and with the support of the Greek and Serbian Governments and Institutions, as well as the Chambers of Commerce of both countries.

During the closing day of the conference the following workshops were organized: Legislation, Taxes, Privatization, Direct Investments, Energy and Mining, Banking, Finance and Insurance, Agribusiness, Real Estate, Information Technologies and Telecommunications, Public Works and Constructions, Tourism and Transportation; the business experiences has been exchanged, as well as ideas and expectations of Serbian and Greek side regarding different industries.

During the conference, representatives of the Serbian Government introduced to the potential Greek investors the investment opportunities in Serbia: current regulations, governmental plans, development programs, and the Greek side presented the concrete objectives of Athens in the regional cooperation adjusted to processes and standards of European integration.

A Partnership Agreement between the Chamber of Commerce of Belgrade and Athens Chamber for small and medium-size enterprises was signed at the Athens Hilton today.

Crown Prince Alexander II addressed them:

“I congratulate you from all my heart on this positive step of the two chambers, and it makes me really happy that this takes place here in Athens. We are in need of a successful economy in order to move forward. Without cooperation, there is no future. I must say, you can count on my full support and assistance, and it is crucial to work on this together”.

At the end of the working sessions, HRH Princess Katherine gave the closing remarks:

“Our people for years have been waiting for employment and a better future does not want promises any more. They seek for concrete actions and results. A strong economy is the guarantee for peace and stability. This conference in Athens represents assistance to the Government and the people, as the time has arrived when we have to seek jobs, as much as the international community has to comprehend the knowledge and capabilities for partnership from our people. The only way is to connect the fraternal country Greece with Serbia and Montenegro. The Greek Government has supported us and we have to build a bridge between these two countries. The relationships established in Athens have to continue. We have to use them, as everything is now up to us. Furthermore, I have to say that the presence of Mr. Boris Tadic, President of Serbia contributed to the conference success, as well as the presence of a large number of Ministers from the Serbian Government. I thank the government and all participants of this assembly, I thank the people who have confidence in such initiatives that my husband HRH Crown Prince Alexander II and I take in a good will to help our people, pointed out Princess Katherine in her closing remarks.

The Conference “Partnership Initiative Greece and Serbia and Montenegro” included the exhibition in the Athens Hilton where Serbian companies were represented at stands among which were: the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, “Knjaz Miloš”, “Bambi”, “Next”, “SIEPA”, “Dunav Grocka”, “Trayal”, ’’Privatization Agency”, ’’Stara Sokolova’’ plum brandy, ’’Parking Servis’’, ’’Institute for transportation’’, ’’New Moment’’, ’’TeleGroup’’, ’’SAGA’’, ’’Comtrade’’, ’’Microsoft SCG’’, Chamber of Commerce Vojvodina, City of Niš.

At this conference, the biggest one organized abroad, where the Serbian economy has presented itself the Greek response was remarkable and exceeded all expectations. More than a hundred Greek business people were present at the workshop on the legal frame in Serbia and Montenegro, which is proof of great interest for investments that exists among from the Greeks.

The biggest financial papers in Athens announced today that the Greece would invest in Serbia 1.2 billion euros, which is a great encouragement for our economy and a proof of being a right partner in strong competition in the region.

At the very end of the conference, HE Milan Parivodic, the Minister of International Economic Relations of Serbia, stated that with the help of family friends of HRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Princess Katherine conferences like this one might be also organized in Great Britain, as well as in some otherworld centres of economy.

The Humanitarian organisation “Lifeline” and the Foundation of HRH Princess Katherine thank all sponsors and participants of the Conference.

Thank you! I forgot that minor detail (cough cough) about the hotel. Oops! :p I have looked for photos as well, but I haven't had much luck. I too will continue looking, and hopefully one of us will find something. Thanks for the article as well.

Hello all:

A few days a go I found a website with a wedding photo of Crown Prince Alexander and Maria Da Gloria circa 1972. Does anyone happen to have the link? I think it would be a nice addition to this thread.

Thank you and best regards.

Blueice 02-15-2005 01:48 PM

Hello Natalija, welcome to TRF! :) I'm afraid I can't help you with that paritcular link - I realize that photo(s) form the wedding exists although a very few of them can be actually found online. I believe there is one of the photos from CP Aleksandar's wedding to Maria Da Gloria on the 2nd or 3rd page of the previous 'Royal families of Yugoslavia' thread, not a very good one unfortunatelly. I'll try to locate the first thread in the 'Archeive' and to place the photo here.

As far as I know there is no photos of CP Aleksandars first marriage on the official web site of the Royal family: www.royalfamily.org . Indeed, it would most certainly make a very nice addition to this thread if we manage to find more of them.

That's a very good question Julia - I guess most of the Royal watchers here in Serbia have been wondering the very same thing. However, there are less than few information available regarding the factual or possible reasons for divorce and I doubt that any official statement was released in respect either. Since CP Aleksandar was still living in London at the time when his first marriage was ended there is no information about this subject in a domestic press' archives or other public sources. I guess the real reasons and their particular nature will remain beyond the public knowledge.

They were, I agree, a very cute and charming couple and having such a lovely family - three adorable boys - together, certainly must of made their decision to put an end to their marriage that lasted 13 years even more difficult. I guess that, unfortunately, even Royal fairytale doesn't always have a happy endings.

Natalija 02-15-2005 03:21 PM

Usually, the 13th year is the hardest in a marriage, not that the others aren't tough.

Que Sera Sera

Julia 02-15-2005 03:27 PM

Thank you for the response, Blueice. Quite true that not all royal fairytales have happy endings...

While it is a shame that Aleksandar and Maria divorced it seems (is this correct?) that Princess Katharine has been accepted by her step-sons and that she and the crown prince are very happy.

Also, did Maria move back to Brazil?

Natalija 02-15-2005 04:22 PM

Does anyone know if Princess Katarina has any children of her own? Or is this her first marriage?

Danielle 02-15-2005 04:38 PM

That you everyone for the information! This thread has taken off. Finally! I read that Maria went to Spain and that the boys often go and visit her and her family. I may be wrong and I will have to double check this.

I found this article with Alexander about his marriage to Maria: http://www.royalfamily.org/press/press-det/stampa-684.htm
Here is an important part.

"What did you know about Mici Lou at that time and did you meet her?

After his father’s death and leaving the army where he had the rank of a captain, Crown Prince Alexander got married to Princess Maria da Gloria from Orleans and Braganza, of the Brazilian Imperial House, in 1972. The wedding took place in Spain, but the newlyweds soon went to live in Brazil.

- We lived in Rio de Janeiro and I worked with an American company in advertising. I also spent sometime time in London and New York. Later on I went into insurance and we moved to Chicago in 1976. Peter was born in Chicago in 1980.

How did you meet your first wife, and what did she do?

- I met Maria da Gloria in 1971 on holiday in Portugal when staying with King Umberto of Italy at his house in Cascais. Maria da Gloria worked in Chicago for fashion then she took art courses. We moved to Virginia in 1981 and Philip and Alexander were born in 1982 there. Our marriage broke up in 1983.

What went wrong in your marriage? The divorce certainly was not an easy decision regarding that you had three young children?

- You are right in saying that the divorce was a tough one for three beautiful children. There are times when things don’t work out and this was one of them. The friendship and relationship between all of us is warm and excellent. Katarina and Maria da Gloria are friends and we see each other occasionally. Katarina had been like true mother to the boys and everyone deeply appreciates her loving care.

At the time when Alexander and Katherine met at a Washington restaurant (“It was love at first sight”), the Crown Prince was friends with all the members of Karadjordjevic family.

- My relationship with all family members was warm and nice when living in exile. Prince Tomislav and Princess Margarita were very good and caring to me as well as Princess Linda. Prince Paul and Princess Olga were always very good to me and I would visit them in Paris and stay with them in their house. I would also see Prince Alexander and Princess Barbara and Princess Elizabeth and we would always be very happy together. I rarely saw Prince Andrew who was living in California, but when I saw him it was very nice. "

I'm sure she has kids, because I remember Prince Philip saying he liked visiting them and being an older brother. I am trying to find this article. I'll let you know if I find it.

Danielle 02-15-2005 04:46 PM

Ok, I have found it. Phew! :p

http://www.royalfamily.org/press/pre...litika_eng.htm The first photo with them covered in tinsel is very sweet. :)

"- We were with our mother and stepfather in Spain, in Villa Madriche della Fondesa where my brother and I were baptised - says Philip. Beside our mother and stepfather there were also our grandmother and grandfather on our mother's side and our two half-sisters, and we really had great time. The elder sister is sixteen and her name is Sol, which means Sun, and the younger is fourteen and her name is Luna, which means Moon.

- They are like real sisters to us - continues Alexander. - Unfortunately I can't go there as often as Philip and Peter because I live in America. Although I like to travel and to go different places, I can't make it to be everywhere.

Staying in Spain was a good opportunity for Philip to practise his Spanish, which he is studying:

- Of course, it's the best possible way to learn a language. Since I'm studying Serbian, I shall spend more time here in the future, not only for holidays, but as often as I can. "

Natalija 02-15-2005 04:52 PM

Thank you for the info. So, now that we know Princess Dona Maria da Gloria has more children, but does Princess Katarina have any? Or is her marriage to Prince Alexander her first marriage?

Best regards...

Katherine has children as well. From www.royalfamily.org

"Her Royal Highness was previously married and has two children David and Alison. Alison has four children: Amanda, Stephanie, Nicolas and Michael and they live in Greece."

Often there are photos of Alison posted. She seems to be very close to her mother and is often involved in various 'royal' events.

Julia 02-15-2005 09:25 PM

Great information Danielle! I wonder if Aleksandar and Maria lived in Petropolis (beautiful, beautiful city) or directly in Rio de Janeiro?

So, Crown Prince Aleksandar must speak Spanish, Portugese, Serbian, English and anything else???

You are most welcome, Julia. Indeed, you are right - Princess Katarina has been very well accepted by her step-sons and anyone who stood a chance to meet them in person or to spend a few moments in their company was deeply moved by love and happiness they project as a couple and as a family. It is truly difficult to overlook genuine care, love and devotion they seem to cherish. The way it appears to be, Princess Katarina and CP Aleksandar make each other very happy - it is so cute and touching to see loving, gentle glances they exchange as well as simple little gestures. They truly seem to care and complement each other - I belive them to be a soul mates. As most Royals, they are very protocol oriented and obliging, yet, very simple and approachable towards their surroundings and people in general.

What strikes me most about Karadjordjevics is their emotional side, sensitivity that is sometimes difficult to control or hide, regardless protocol. Whilst Princess Katarina has most sincere, sympathetic and warm expression in her big eyes that would 'melt' the 'coldest' hearts (which make it almost impossible for potential donators to refuse any of her pleads regarding charity causes she supports :)), CP Aleksandar is also known for not being ashamed to express his emotions publicly - to shad a tear or to get angry if necessary. They let people see their human, vulnerable side, the fact that they are not perfect, are very down to earth, seem to be genuinely happy as a couple and as a family, and to sincerely care for others.

Belgrade, 14 March 2005 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Princess Katherine visited Vrbas, Crvenka and Veternik today, and the Foundation of HRH Princess Katherine delivered an ambulance vehicle “Yugo Florida” to the Health Center in Vrbas, and a donation of food, clothes, shoes, desks and hygienic material to the Home for children hindered in development.

At the very beginning of the visit to the Backa region, Their Royal Highnesses visited the Municipality of Vrbas, where Mr. Zeljko Lainovic with his closest associates wished them a warm welcome. He introduced the dear guests with the results of the development of this town so far, as well as with future plans. Addressing the present, HRH Crown Prince Alexander II pointed out:

“The future of everyone and of your town as well, is with young people. We should help them to gain a quality education, but also, they should be motivated to stay here and help their own people in the best possible way. We must all be united in realizing this. Only in this way can we succeed and be sure that we have a brighter future ahead of us. Our country deserves to be a part of the big European family, because that place rightly belongs to it in the course of its history” – and added, that they can always count on help from the Royal Family.

Afterwards, TRH went to visit the Health Center in Vrbas, where the valuable donation was delivered - an ambulance vehicle “Yugo Florida” that was purchased with a great effort from the Foundation of HRH Princess Katherine. The keys of this vehicle were ceremonially handed over to the director of the Health Center by HRH Crown Prince Alexander II.

Mr. Dusan Komnenovic, director, thanked TRH on behalf of the employees for this valuable present, which will be of great help for the work of the Health Center, and pointed out that Their Royal Highnesses put much effort in helping, not only the Health Center in Vrbas, but also a great number of medical institutions throughout our country.

The present were also addressed by HRH Princess Katherine.

“The ambulance vehicle, which we are handing over to you today, will help you and your everyday fight for human life. Human life is the most valuable thing we have and every effort to save it must be made. That is why the joy of giving is great, when we know that we helped you and your patients. Our heart is always with our people, and we will always be there to alleviate the conditions in which you work” – Princess Katherine pointed out.

Later on, Their Royal Highnesses visited the sugar factory “Crvenka”, and candy factory “Jafa” in Crvenka, where they spent time chatting with the hosts and introduced themselves with the work and results of these two high-tech equipped factories.

At the end of the visit to the Backa region, Their Royal Highnesses visited the Home for children hindered in development, in Veternik, where they delivered a valuable donation of desks, hygienic material, food, clothes and shoes. Mr. Bekic, director, with his closest associates and a great number of children, who live in this Home, wished a warm welcome to the dear guests.

Mr. Bekic, director, thanked the Royal Couple for the valuable donation that resulted from the great humanitarian action of the Foundation of HRH Princess Katherine, in which many good-hearted people from Greece took part, wanting in this way to help the little children in Homes throughout Serbia. Director Bekic declared HRH Princess Katherine the patron of the Home for children hindered in development in Veternik.

Noticeably exited Princess addressed the present and expressed her hope that this donation will help the little children in their everyday work and added:

“Your laughter is the biggest reward for us. There is much love for you in our hearts, and I know you feel that. Thank you for your wish to have me as your patron. It is a great honour for me, but also an obligation to help you in the future, too. Beside the great number of obligations I will try to visit you more often and to spend more time chatting and playing with you.”

The little children performed a short cultural-artistic program in honour of the visit of Their Royal Highnesses and as a sign of their gratitude for the valuable donation of the Foundation of HRH Princess Katherine.

Prince Alexander Karadjordjevic

PRINCE CHARLES HAS AN INVITATION TO COME TO SERBIA

The Crown Prince Alexander Karadjordjevic talks about the visits to Rome and London, where he attended the funeral of PopeJohn II and the wedding of Prince Charles

Your Royal Highness, tell us what are the impressions from Windsor?

It was a wonderful day filled with happiness and joy. My wife and I are thrilled for Prince Charles and Princess Camilla. My wife and I had flown Thursday 7 April with Prince Charles to Rome for the funeral of the Pope on Friday and so being at such a wonderful wedding Saturday after witnessing world leaders and the people being so sad in Rome was very nice. The whole of the British Royal Family and guests thoroughly enjoyed the wedding and the newly weds were radiant. We have always like Princess Camilla very much and were thrilled that the wedding was such a great success.

What was the ceremony after the wedding like?

The reception in Windsor Castle following the wedding was extremely nice and very relaxed. The Queen gave a speech and so did the bride’s father – they were wonderful speeches filled with humor and praise for the couple. Prince Charles’s speech was excellent and so very well received by all guests. The wedding cake was superb and from Wales. Windsor Castle looks magnificent after the terrible fire of a few years ago and the wedding was splendid in the restored reception rooms.

What did you talk about with Prince Charles, will he come to Serbia and when?

On the Prince’s airplane of the Queen’s flight to Rome and back, my wife and I had the opportunity to answer questions our country. We also thanked Prince Charles for his humanitarian aid that we delivered last year. In addition, we had the opportunity to speak on the flight with Michael Howard (the leader of the conservatives) and Charles Kennedy (leader of the Liberal Democrats). At the reception in Windsor Castle I spoke with Tony Blair (Prime Minister) about the tough times our people are facing. There is an election campaign going on in the United Kingdom. Prince Charles has a standing invitation to come to Serbia and this is in the hands of the British Foreign Office. I hope that it will not be long before the Prince and Princess come to our beautiful country so that they can see first hand how wonderful and hospitable our people are.

What did you and talk about with Queen Elizabeth?

The queen was very happy to see my wife and I at the wedding and we spoke about the marvelous day.

What is the position of the Serbian Dynasty Karadordjevic among the European Monarchies?

Our position is very good and very friendly. At the funeral of the Pope, we spoke briefly with The King and Queen of Spain and the King and Queen of the Belgiums. We also had the opportunity to speak with President and Mrs. Chirac. We are proud to have good relations with all royal families and proud to have so many good friends.

How much are our Monarchist relations utilized for enhancement of political and economical status of Serbia in the world?

My wife and I always talk proudly about our beloved country and our people. However, owing to the constitutional restraints in the European monarchies it is the government that rules and the monarch reigns, but that does not mean that we do not miss the opportunity to talk.

Is it possible to have the photos from the wedding?

I am sorry that I do not have any personally, but I understand that the television took footage.

What is the plan of HRH Crown Prince, where does he plan to travel in the next couple of weeks?

We will be going this week to the funeral of Prince Rainier of Monaco and then back home next week. I have known Prince Rainier sine (sic) I was a child and my wife and I have been his guests in his palace in Monaco. We are very sad that he passed away; he was very warm and wonderful person.

EVROPA, March 2005

Interview with HRH Crown Prince Alexander II for weekly magazine “Evropa”

THE PROPERTY WILL BE RETURNED TO US

Evropa: Which property in Serbia is to be claimed by The Royal Home?

KARADJORDJEVIC: The question of the return of the property of The Royal Home was raised long time ago, and resolved on the occasion when the National Parliament abolished the shameful Decree from 1947. When and how this property will be returned depends on the enactment of a special law, in the manner that was regulated by the above-mentioned decision of the National Parliament.

Evropa: Which members of The Royal Home will claim the property and what property exactly is to be claimed?

KARADJORDJEVIC: It is not possible to answer this now, because the appropriate decision will be made by each of the inheritors themselves. What we need to bear in mind, by all means, is that a part of this property has a special cultural and historic value, beside its material and sentimental value. I believe that a solution is possible, and that it could be fair and beneficial for everyone.

Evropa: In what form do the members of The Royal Home expect the property to be returned to them?

KARADJORDJEVIC: What is possible should be returned directly, and what is impossible to return directly should be the subject of compensation (it should not be forgotten that a considerable part of the property was destroyed).

Evropa: Would you agree to have the property partly returned, and partly to have a monetary compensation? And under which conditions would you agree with that?

KARADJORDJEVIC: That is, also, something that the inheritors themselves will decide on. Personally, I think that it is possible, and an agreement on conditions is certainly needed and possible.

Evropa: Do you still consider, as You did seven years ago, that without the return of the confiscated property Serbia will not realize the full democracy and acquire the condition for joining the European Union?

KARADJORDJEVIC: This is not only what I consider, but also everyone who knows how the immunity of private property is treated in Europe and in the whole world.

ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT

PAVAROTI RETURNS

In 1961 I heard there was an audition for a singer who would travel to Belgrade. I applied and I passed. That was my first stage appearance out of Italy. this present stage appearance is one of my last concerts. Between those two trips to Belgrade is my entire career – so said Luciano Pavarotti, perhaps the world’s most famous contemporary opera singer, during his May visit o Belgrade

According to Serbia’s Crown Prince Aleksandar Karadjordjevic, Pavarotti’s concert was a step on the road to making Belgrade a cultural centre of Europe, while local opera star Oliver Njego said that the sound of that noble vocal instrument that was Pavrotti’s voice would resound in his years for a long time.

Interesting to see that Serge, who is the 'son' of the rival claimant is invited and attending. I doubt his 'father', step-mother, or aunt Elisabeth will be there. It is also interesting to see that he has been accorded the HRH, when that branch of the family are Highnesses at best.

Wonder if Serge and his sister are on speaking terms with their father. Their paternity has long been speculated upon, and it is an open secret that their father is Michelle de Bourbon-Parme, their mother's current husband & long time lover prior to that. Last I checked Alexandre's (of the Arsen branch) website, they were in the family album section of his webiste, while all of his other children were.

  • Prince Alexander graduated from San Francisco University last year with a degree in Communications last year. Apparently he's working in the PR field.
  • Prince Peter works in a graphic design firm in London.
  • Prince Philip - I'm not sure what he's doing now. He was doing something in the UK but I don't know if he's still there.
Other than that, there's nothing new (that I can find) on the Princes.

Nice to see what a decent man the crownprince is! Does anybody know if he is on good terms with his ex-wife, the present duchess of Segoiva (?) . Her husband is only the 3rd son of the Duke of Medina, right? So why did he get a dukedom and is it hereditairy?

Oh that's sad. It's really nice that they're all going over there. Most ex-husbands probably wouldn't do that.

That's a good question. I'm not too sure. CP Alexander has never really said anything to suggest they're not on amicable terms, but I might be wrong. They're a fairly private family so I guess we can't really know for certain.

Many Spanish Grandees are multi-titled; it is traditional to "spin some off" to the sons, and sometimes daughters; some of the titles become hereditary and some are life-time only. If you think the British nobility is complex, have a look at the different grades and titles of the Grandees!

I didn't realise they played any role of significance, I thought it was for the most part simply "smile, wave, cut the ribbon, send letters of congradulations to people for good stuff they do"... I mean, theyre not officially the monarchy at the mo'. But when they were in Australia they met with some pretty important people! I am really quite suprised! But I hope they achieved their goal of raising interest and funds for Serbia, a nation which I feel gets treated entirely unfairly in the media at times.

Studying

I think that Petar finished his studies and he is now working in London in design bussines. I think that Alexander finished too his studies in USA, but Filip is still studying (Spanish).

Thanks again for scanning all these photo for us, mtbcm!

When again did it take place? (I presume it was in the late 90s...)

GömdNatt 03-16-2006 04:55 PM

If it was on the night of Pvalos' wedding day then it was July something (I think the 1st) 1995. So it was the mid-90s.

STATEMENT OF HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS
CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER II
FOLLOWING THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE
MONTENEGRO REFERENDUM RESULTS

Dear Citizens of Serbia, My Dear People!

It has been officially confirmed that the people of Montenegro voted for independence.

I am sad, but I wish our Montenegrin brothers peace, democracy and happiness. .

The people of Montenegro are our brothers and sisters no matter what if we live in one or in two countries, that is how it was and that is how it will be forever.

Now, it is time for us, Serbs, to completely dedicate ourselves to our Serbia. Too much blood has been spilled, too much strength of the people has been wasted, too much reputation has been lost in the twentieth century and even in the twenty first century with few positive results.

We cannot waist anymore precious time. Now is the golden time for Serbia to put itself in order, according to its measures. That measure is the Kingdom of Serbia.

I strongly believe in the Constitutional Parliamentary Kingdom of Serbia. Again, we need to be proud, a strong Serbia that is at peace with itself and with its neighbors. We were a proud, respected and happy country in the days of my great grandfather King Peter I. So, we can do it! Only if we have a form of governance close to the Serbian soul: the Kingdom of Serbia.

In modern Constitutional Parliamentary Monarchies, the Parliament and the Government rule and are elected in elections, just like in a republic. The Head of the State is the King. The King respects all the political parties, but he is not the member of any political party!

That is the reason why Constitutional Parliamentary Monarchies are often more stable: for example the United Kingdom, Sweden, Holland, Belgium, and Spain… Spain is an exceptional example of a country that Monarchy with King Juan Carlos returned to the path the success and respect after decades of problems.

Simply, the King is above daily politics, he is the guardian of national unity, political stability and continuity of the state. In Constitutional Parliamentary Monarchies the King is the protector of public interest: there is no personal or party interest. What is most important is the interest of Serbia.

I am ready to meet all our politicians; we have to work together for the common good of Serbia, and to be friends in the name of the future of our country. I appeal for the end of the continuous wrangling, division and arguments. I appeal for mature democratic debate in the interest of Serbia. Serbia must have clear and realistic objectives.

Now, we must skillfully move ahead with political unity and maturity to launch a strategic plan for the future of Serbia. Serbia must be reborn as a modern nation respecting itself with a positive and respected image both internally and externally. That can be achieved with passionate and persistent work for our country, based on a clear vision of our future.

The Kingdom of Modern Serbia will be a proud respected democratic country with respect for all citizens regardless of their political affiliation, religion or ethnic origin.

The Crown is positive for our democracy. The Crown respects and protects everyone. The Crown strengthens our democracy. The Crown brings credibility. The Crown reconciles.

I am proud of Serbia and wish to be the servant of our country. The Kingdom of Serbia is Serbia’s answer for a strong, democratic Serbia in Europe. The Kingdom of Serbia will provide the fastest way forward to the European Union, it will encourage work on attracting investments, stimulating economic growth, and work for the creation of jobs and social services, pensions and education of our youth.

Let’s no waste any more time. Serbia must move ahead.

I want to serve Serbia.

Long live Serbia!
