Greetings from Central Florida! I was surfing the net and found this forum. Since I was a teen, I've had an interest in royalty. In high school I read a book about a French Princess who was the only survivor of the French revolution. I was fascinated by her story. I was also fascinated by British royalty and their history. I didn't know it at the time, but in my family tree, there is royalty. From what I've heard there's a Polish Baron, A British Earl and a British Lord. The children of these unions were born out of wedlock. It seemed like they all ended up in America around 1800. My guess is they were given money to come to the United States as these men had other children. I didn't find this out until I was an adult.
This perhaps explained why I was fascinated reading about the mistresses of royalty. I read several books about King Charles II and his brother King James when I was a senior in high school For a teen-ager to be reading about this was rather unusual but I couldn't get enough of it. My friends were reading romantic novels and I was reading about royal mistresses.
Someone jokingly asked me if I was considering this as an future occupation. I told them I don't think so. When I was younger, I wouldn't have minded dating someone who was single and royal. My family tree is rather interesting but too dull for a tabloid. An American family which consists of law abiding citzens who are conservative mid-Westerners don't usually make world news or news in the United States. In case someone reading this doesn't know what a mid-Westerner is (this is a American who cames from states like Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Michigan Ohio, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota,Wisconsin, North,South Dakota).
