March 17, 2010 - Marie attending a concert in white pants, white top and a silver/grey jacket.

Jacket length is quite nice on Maries petite figure, the pants are flattering but not liking the fabric. Clutch was out of place.

Close Up ** Full View ** Clutch

NoorMeansLight 03-18-2010 09:12 AM

Too shiny for me. But I like the cut of the jacket and the white blouse. And I agree with you, Dazz, about the clutch...

Al_bina 03-18-2010 03:11 PM

Joining the above opinions, I have to say that the look is awkward, to say the least. The "shiny" element tends to further cheapen the look. I am not keen on Princess Marie being over suntanned.

rubies 03-18-2010 04:55 PM

Usual Marie, not much imagination. A little early for shiny white pants, even here in Florida! The clutch was actually the only thing I liked.

avrilo 03-18-2010 08:03 PM

Yeah , perhaps it's a bit too early to wear white pants and shoes, is not spring yet...and the tan doesn't help, but the outfit fits her perfectly and she always has a wonderful smile and looks so happy

princess gertrude 03-21-2010 06:57 PM

I'm not a big fan of the "white" outfit. It's a little too shiny for me. But avrilo is right in saying that it does fit her well. The cut of the pants are nice on her. And she does have a great smile, just wish she would smile more. And just to say that I have a new fondness for her since seeing the 3rd installment of Monarchy Inside. She is quite funny and seems to have a good sense of humor, which for me, can sometimes make the clothes irrelevent.

March 19, 2010 - Skirt, jacket, top and a birkin bag matched with a pashmina around the neck.

Full View ** With Pashmina on ** Close Up

Not a bad look at all. It wouldve looked nice if the jacket was a bit shorter.

Dierna23 03-22-2010 09:25 AM

:previous:

Judging from the first picture the outfit looks a bit messy, I agree that it would have looked better if the jacket was shorter. The jacket in general is a bit too shiny for my taste.
But she looks nicely put together in the close up-picture. I really like the pashmina & bag, also her hairstyle looks quite nice to me.

Ccile 03-22-2010 09:32 AM

Is it a brown Hermes bag?? Kelly or Birkin??

marlene 03-22-2010 09:43 AM

I believe the bag is a modified kelly and not a birkin. As for the shinny white pants I think they look that shinny because of the flash from the cameras.I have a black pair. They are called cigarette pants and are a classic from the 1950's I thought they looked quite retro.

I like the top part of the outfit, but I'm not so sure about the bottom, the pant's fabric looks like velvet, it makes me think of those velvety tracksuits that were "fashionable" a few years ago and the fitting is poor

Birkin. Looks like its lizard skin or some kind of exotic skin.

rubies 03-29-2010 03:38 PM

Prince Joachim looks terrific, thats all I can say about 'Marie 'as I seem to be so negative about her style!

dazzling 03-30-2010 04:53 AM

Overall Marie looked good but only if each piece was in a different fabric -
Jacket in wool
Pants in a nice rich fabric

Then I think this would be nice.

bertie5252003 03-30-2010 01:51 PM

IMO the pants she wears always appear too tight and the jackets are just too short or not cut well enough for her she must be really short and so therefore everything needs to be perfect on her as far as the cut is concerned. I didn't like the outfit at the Legoland appearance for that reason nor did the Mexico trip gear appeal. However I will say it must be really difficult for he ras Mary would have first choice, by way of her position, so Marie has to be doubly aware. But this is of cause only MO.

Lumutqueen 03-30-2010 02:11 PM

I think the outfit looks okay.

biboquinhas 03-31-2010 05:36 AM

She looks mucht better when she wears casual clothes!

NoorMeansLight 03-31-2010 09:22 AM

I'm not keen on this casual outfit. It looks too casual and indifferent IMHO.

Her_Majesty 04-12-2010 05:23 PM

Marie at the race track today:
Casual look

NoorMeansLight 04-12-2010 05:27 PM

This casual outfit is much better than the previous one. I like this blue jacket.

Dierna23 04-13-2010 04:43 PM

Me too. Sunglasses addicted me also finds her pair of quite interesting. ;)

Princess Marie attends day one of Queen Margrethe 70th birthday celebrations.

White looks good on Marie, but the dress is not very beautiful, somehow it looks cheap to me. Lovely tiara. I would have hoped that she have put her hair up.

NoorMeansLight 04-13-2010 05:17 PM

The dress looks beautiful, though I'm not too excited either. Her pendant must be lovely, but I'd better wait for more photos. :flowers:

I agree, the dress is not bad but if the accessory is that beautiful tiara get something that looks as regal. In this case the dress lookes to casual put together with the tiara. :ermm:

Josefine 04-13-2010 05:42 PM

maries dress has a 80 style for me reminds me of one of dianas dresses

I really like Marie's hairdo and make-up tonight. The dress is interesting.

agami.pearl 04-13-2010 06:31 PM

Nice color of dress, fantastic make-up and hairstyle. I don't like the top part of the dress, it seems to be too large for a 'petite' Marie. The sleeves are too wide.

I agree with you. She looks lovely, dress is different but OK.;)

princess gertrude 04-13-2010 08:38 PM

I can't make up my mind about this dress. It's very Princess Diana. White looks great on Marie and her hair and makeup are beautiful. Maybe after a few more pictures I'll be able to make up my mind.

The dress idea is interesting but the fabric used is not the right choice and the finishing doesnt seem to be that good. The cuffs on the sleeves look quite old for Marie.
I like the white, she pulls it off really well. Not liking the shoes which seem suitable for a cocktail and not a gala.
The hair is lovely, quite young and looks really nice with the tiara. I love how simple the make up is and how fresh she looks.

Duke of Marmalade 04-14-2010 06:33 AM

matronly, badly tailored, fabric too heavy ... Marie is far too petite for this kind dress that looks, as others already said, like from a car boot sale of Diana's 2nd hand dresses.

Marie hardly gets it right but she probably doesnt aim to. Hopefully the gala is over soon and she can get back to her first job as Lady of the Manor.

Boris 04-14-2010 07:07 AM

A bad overall look indeed.
The choice of overpowering 80s silhouette, which she seems to prefer for some odd reason in her daywear as well, is all wrong for petite Marie, and here it does not help that the dress is very badly fitted, too wide and too long.
Obviously not the best quality fabric either, which has no flow, and along with a hairdo which doesn't flatter the tiara or the neckline, a sash which isn't quite placed right, and those peep-toe sandals, it's a decidedly poor gala look.
Thumbs down.

i actually like it. its interesting to look at without being outlandish. i kinda like that she has worn something unusual. good for her

rsfc149 04-14-2010 03:00 PM

I think it looks like a nightgown. It just doesn't fit. Without the sleeves it would be okay, but still I don't like the colour. It should have been cream-coloured, but not this kind of white.
The rest is beautiful as always.

4Pam 04-14-2010 03:49 PM

I think she looks good but the dress isn't so great. Looks to matronly and makes her look old

ANNIE_S 04-14-2010 04:33 PM

:previous: I agree with you, 4Pam. She looks beautiful, her hairdo and make-up are lovely and the jewells are wonderful; the dress, on the other hand, is nice, but it doesnīt look very good on her, especially the sleeves. I think they look quite odd for a gala gown.

Lumutqueen 04-15-2010 08:15 AM

Didn't like the Gala dress it looked too informal in my mind. She does like looking like s bride.

kathl29 04-15-2010 09:13 AM

I think Marie looks beautiful - particularly the hair and makeup. I actually quite like the white dress but I do think it would probably look better without the long sleeves.

ladybelline 04-15-2010 09:52 AM

I agree - without the sleeves the gown would be better. But the color suits her, nice make-up and original hairdo.:flowers:

biboquinhas 04-15-2010 01:17 PM

well Marie has a wonderful figure she should enhance it a bit more..I don't want to compare but Mary always enhance her figure very well with her dresses so they can adjust to her body, maybe Marie could do the same because her dresses always look too big for her!
I don't like the colour of the dress it is to shinny, although I think she looks good in white, and I really don't like the dress it is not a modern dress..

Her_Majesty 04-15-2010 05:57 PM

For tonight's gala Marie wore a new red dress:

http://picture.belga.be/belgapicture...v/19781318.jpg
http://picture.belga.be/belgapicture...v/19781147.jpg

The colour is great on Marie. I don't really like the details of the dress. It doesn't look really good in close-ups.
Her hairdo is lovely and the cut of the dress' skirt is great.

Emmily 04-15-2010 07:16 PM

The straps are what distracts from the dress, I think. But everything else about the dress I like. Color is great on her. You are right, Her Majesty, the dress looks better from a distance.

Dierna23 04-15-2010 07:19 PM

:previous:

Indeed, the straps attracted my attention immediately when I saw the close up. And I didn't like them. But that colour looks fabulous on her!!! :flowers:
Apart from the details I like the dress' cut and Marie's hairdo.

PrincessofEurope 04-15-2010 07:31 PM

Colour - good as red is always a winner and stands out
I like the cut of the dress but the material looks cheap and im not keen on the details and the belt seems pointless
Her hair is nicely styled with the tiara

almee 04-15-2010 08:48 PM

I love how Marie carries herself. She poses very elegantly & delicately. The red dress looks very beautiful on her & the colour suits her well. I agree that the fabric of the dress could be alot richer.
Im probably in the minority, but I loved the white gown from yesterday. I reminded my of a Halston that I saw once, it fit her petite frame beautifully.:flowers:

princess gertrude 04-15-2010 09:19 PM

The cut & color of the dress are wonderful on Marie. I would tend to agree that the fabric is not the greatest. Her hair, makeup and jewels are lovely also.

royalsmartie 04-15-2010 09:54 PM

OK Marie can't dress and her stylish needs to be stoned !!!! Marie if your out there please go hire Mary's stylist PLEASE

dazzling 04-16-2010 02:21 AM

This dress reminds me a lot of her wedding dress for some reason.
I like the color & it does look good on her. She looks quite confidence in this dress which shows her figure nicely. The detailing is poor and im not liking the lace inserts on the sides. The decollate could have been a bit more revealing.

Hair is quite pretty so is the make up.

agami.pearl 04-16-2010 04:34 AM

I like the color and the cut, especially the train, but the belt and the lace details are ugly. Nice hairdo and make-up.

Lumutqueen 04-16-2010 04:55 AM

I like the colour and her hairdo and make up are beautiful but i don't like the dress itself on Marie. Something a little less hollywood, would've been nice.

ANNIE_S 04-16-2010 10:24 AM

:previous: I agree with you, Lumutqueen, I also think that this dress is a bit too "Hollywood". I love the colour and the skirtīs shape is just wonderful. Pretty hairdo as well. But the top part ruins the whole look, what a shame :ermm:

Princess Mary's ensemble is all right. There is something off with the whole look. I can not tell what exactly. Fabric the dress (?) is made of looks cheap as usual.

Melibea 04-16-2010 11:27 AM

I think that she usually wears nice things but she hasn't got the attitude to match the clothes.
And I dislike the hat, the rest is ok except the belt that it's too casual imo.

I actually quite like this look on Marie. The hat looks lovely on her.

agami.pearl 04-16-2010 12:59 PM

Nice outfit, nothing special but good. I like the shoes and the hat. Whole look is girlish and I like it. Dress is lavender and Joachim - he chose a similar tone. He often do this and I love it

Parrothead 04-16-2010 01:07 PM

She looks very chic. Love how the trim on the hat matches the dress.

ANNIE_S 04-16-2010 01:40 PM

The dress is quite lovely, the jacket goes well with it IMO, and I love how the hat colours match the outfit  I quite like the hat itself, too, I think it looks good on her. And the shoes are wonderful.

dazzling 04-16-2010 02:16 PM

Her outfit was a hit. The dress was a lovely shade of purple/lilac and the jacket for once was at a nice length for her. I like the belt worn over the jacket and the hat was worn well.
Marie really managed to look good and not over dressed for the event.

Emmily 04-16-2010 04:42 PM

It's not bad ,but I'm not crazy about the very top. The trim or lace that is sticking up makes it appear a little "hollywood" as Lumutqueen said. She really does look pretty here.

is this nightgown style dress not a reat - i thought she wore it or one similair to a wedding last summer?

princess gertrude 04-16-2010 08:58 PM

I like the dress, but maybe not for this occasion. I actually like the dress in the soft peach that she wore to the wedding several months ago better. Her hair and makeup are beautiful.

Katrianna 04-17-2010 01:00 AM

I haven't liked any of Marie's evening gowns. They just don't seem to have a professional tailoring look to them, rather they look like something off the rack. The white gown with long sleeves reminded me of my old white nurse's uniform. The lavender dress and hat weren't too bad except I would have used a different fabric for the dress instead the gauzy sheer fabric. Marie can't seem to find a style right for her.:flowers:

The gown looks much better in black but was quite underdressed for the event. Its a very night gown looking dress which is a pitty and such dresses dont work nor look good with a tiara at all.

I think this is one of the nicest outfits I have seen on Marie. The hat suits her tiny frame.

agami.pearl 04-17-2010 06:49 AM

Nice dress, but not for that occasion and not with tiara. For less formal event could be perfect but not yesterday.
Anyway - make-up and hairdo are perfect.

Duke of Marmalade 04-17-2010 07:32 AM

Another lingerie dress!!!

Why is it that at least half of the evening dresses that Marie has worn so far look like night gowns and this one is only the latest addition.

I don't like it at all and its like a broken record, flimsy dress, cheap looking material, bad tailoring, AGAIN :bang:

I dont care much for the red or white dresses, but I found this black dress rather pretty, the problem is that the hair do is too high, her hair, like she wore it with the whtie dress would have looked awesome

I think the black dress was very ethereal looking and I loved her updo with this dress,I think this har style suits her the best when she is wearing an evening dress. She is still finding her way when it comes to her fashion choices and she has to be very careful not to copy Mary or she'll be vilified in the press.I think(because she is so slim)that simple styles reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn ,embellished shift dresses and tailored suite would look lovely on her.Kate Spade clothing would suit her as well

http://cdn.theroyalforums.com/ugala/...tons/quote.gif I do like her taste either isabelle generally I just try and wonder what the devil would anyone thinking wearing this or that the dress at the dinner dance was just frightful and the white style was fine but I did not like the white on her their was too much gown on such a small personIMO

I like Maries outfit if it was for all one shade of stripes. I thought it fitted very well and looked quite elegent but this is not a spring look. Really nice hair today. Overall I quite liked this look putting a few negative things on away.

The colour is great on Marie. I don't really like the details of the dress. It doesn't look really good in close-ups.
Her hairdo is lovely and the cut of the dress' skirt is great.

Thanks for the pics!

That dress is just beautiful! She just looked so beautiful! The tiara and hairstyle made the entire emsemble breathtaking! Just wow!

Yes Dazzling, this is not a spring look .I think, this pic is old and wasn't taken recently because there was no rain this week in Paris.
