Crown Prince Couple Official Visit to Budapest, Hungary; March 19th-20th, 2010
 

According to their official schedule, Prince Frederik and princess Mary will visit Budapest on the 19th of march to visit the Budapest spring festival! Denmark is the guest of honour this year.

How nice! The Budapest Spring Festival runs from March 19 to
April 5 this year, so they are special guests of the opening day!

The festival includes classical and light music concerts, theatre
performances, film screenings, open-air programmes and other
festival-type events, so surely a great event to attend! :smile:

What a wonderful event for the couple to attend, and finally a joint event. :smile:

Programme

15:00
Attends the official opening ceremony of the Budapest Spring Festival at the Ludwig Museum, including opening of the exhibition 'Power Games' by Danish contemporary art. Exhibition's goal is to filter the political and social reality through art.

17:00
Presenting courtesy visit to President Sólyom Lászó in Sándor Palace.

19:00
Will attend as guests of honor opening performance with the Royal.
Ballet's construction of "La Sylphide" and "Symphony C" in the State Opera, together with the President of Hungary, Hungarian ministers and the Danish Minister of Culture. Participates in the reception afterwards.

Aww, Budapest is a lovely city, especially during spring time! And I agree: finally a joint event again! Some wonderful pictures of Frederik in Paty's post - thank you!

Thanks for the pictures! Love Mary's dress for the opera, but the bare shoulders/dark hose combination seems strange.

I agree Ella Kay. Hope she wore the shawl most of the time. I think the dark hose looks fine then.:smile:;):smile:

A programme was made for the couple, they had visited several place. I read the programme on the CPMB.
Not sure if it was a private programme for the couple without photographers and the press or its just the weekend and will get pictures soon.

That sounds logical :smile: Although we would of course like
to see those pics, it would have also been nice for the couple
to have a very private programme as well :smile:
