I love pearl earrings and these are lovely.

ayvee 11-03-2009 12:34 PM

The first time she wore these earrings was Oct. 9, 2009:

The earrings are from Marianne Dulong.

The earrings are fantastic! I love it when pearls form such beautiful drops. Mary is so lucky to have them!

ayvee 11-03-2009 06:10 PM

This bangle was her engagement present from QMII. QMII used to wear this bangle too.

I also love these earrings. CP Mary seems to really favor pearl earrings as she has quite a few pairs from her favorite Marianne Dulong. The pearl bypass bangle I have been waiting to see for a awhile. I'm glad she pulled it out!!;)

So this is one of the Queen's bracelets and it was given to Mary? It's really beautiful.

ayvee 11-04-2009 01:27 AM

For the dinner on Nov. 2, 2009, Princess Mary wore the diamond brooch she received from Prince Henrik as an engagement present on her hair.

http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n...hairbrooch.jpg

A little bit of bling in the absence of a tiara.

She wore the brooch on her jacket during the day events on Nov. 3, 2009.

Tilia C. 11-04-2009 06:59 AM

The brooch in her hair looks very elegant! I love jewels to be worn in the hair, it looks so sophisticated and should be done more often. Where did you find this great picture, Ayvee? I haven't seen ist before.

rubies 11-04-2009 07:50 AM

ayvee, you are again my hero. You always find such perfect pictures of P Mary's jewelry. I love this brooch, its one of my faves of hers. It looks so elegant in her hair, it changes the whole hairstyle IMO. I too wish there were more jewels done in the hair!!!:flowers::flowers:

I wonder if Princess Mary or the Queen receive any gifts of jewelry from their state visit?

MelinaB. 11-04-2009 05:00 PM

I liked today's earrings, although I can't see if they form a star or a flower(top part). They look so modern and delicate! I also loved the above brooch, especially when worn on her hair. So chic!

ayvee 11-04-2009 06:52 PM

It looks like a five-petal flower on her right ear and a heart on her left ear.

You're right, Ayvee! The earrings are different. I guess this is "the next best thing" in jewellery. he he

bertie5252003 11-04-2009 07:46 PM

Not really crazy about the earrings heart and flower thing looks odd to me love the jewels otherwise the brooch as hair accessory is really gorg.

Terri Terri 11-05-2009 07:25 AM

I think that the earrings worn at the rock concern are whimsical, young and fun!!! Perfect for the event!! And the pink pendant drop stones match her blouse! Maybe she has other stones that can be interchanged to match the outfit she wears in the future?

For the serious official events, CP Mary has worn very traditional and classic jewels. :flowers:

On the first day she wore pearls and a diamond ring? (on right hand) in the morning; Diamonds with amethysts pendant drops, amethyst and diamond ring and a diamond brooch in her hair in the evening;

On the second day, aquamarine earrings, diamond brooch and diamond ring on the right hand in the morning; Gold, diamond and pearl earrings with gold, pearl and diamond bracelet/bangle and diamond ring in the evening.

I think she does a great job of matching jewelry with the event.

Diansche 11-05-2009 07:30 AM

It looks like that mary wearing new earrings (from Day 4, concert) from jewlscph:

But they are not really the same ?!?

Terri Terri 11-05-2009 08:33 AM

Hmmm...maybe she brought 2 pairs of earrings? One pair of the heart motif and another pair with the flower mofit?...and just chose to wear one of each at the rock concert?

I don't think so. The drop length of the earrings don't correspond to the length of Princess Mary's earrings.

Terri Terri 11-06-2009 08:07 AM

CP Mary wore her diamond stud earrings today. She first wore them on her official engagement day in October 2003.

dazzling 11-14-2009 05:23 AM

Here is a picture gallery from BB of Mary's different rings she was worn

Is this her wedding band/ring?

JessRulz 11-14-2009 05:27 AM

:previous:

No, her wedding band is a thin band of diamonds. This ring first appeared I believe just after Isabella was born.

ayvee 11-14-2009 12:29 PM

I call it the Isabella christening ring since Princess Mary wore it for the first time at that event.

MelinaB. 11-14-2009 01:17 PM

The "Isabella" diamond ring is gorgeous, thanks for sharing it! A gift from her husband maybe?

Lumutqueen 11-14-2009 01:23 PM

She has a beautiful set of rings.
The Isabella ring is stunning. :flowers:

rubies 11-14-2009 06:29 PM

I love it too lumutqueen. Mary has some nice rings, and she seems to wear rings most of the time.

She looks so good in drop earrings. They seem to give her a softness in the face. I like that she has 'fun' jewellery as well.

Thanks Terri! I was trying to figure out wear the necklace came from. I like it. But a dress with a neckline like that deserves a corker of a necklace.

PrincessofEurope 01-01-2010 05:59 PM

Thnaks for sharing because i was wondering as to where the pendant came from and now i see i closeup i realise it is taken of the bottom of the brooch which this time Mary has choosen to wear as a pin holding the train part of the dress

ayvee 01-01-2010 06:27 PM

Nice close-up of green (emeralds?) and diamond earrings that Princess Mary wore on Dec. 17, 2009 at Christiansborg Palace during the Climate Summit:

Princess Mary did a great job really "jewelling" it up at New Years court. It's been a while since we have seen her like this. Love what she did to the brooch. Does anyone have a closeup of her ring, it looks new.(maybe a Christmas present) I also noticed on Christmas day in the pictures of her coming outside of church she seems to have on a diamond station necklace. Any one else notice this? ... and ayvee, your pic doesn't come up for me.

Tilia C. 01-03-2010 07:24 AM

I liked the idea of wearing the pendant of the brooch on a necklace, but imo the delicat looking necklace didn't go well with the rest of the ensemble: the grand tiara, big version of the earring, order chain and fur outweight the delicate looking necklace. Maybe the small version of the earrings would have been better. Also I am among those who don't think that the orange dress went well with the colour of the rubies. Unfortunately Mary only has this one grand tiara, but I would have prefered the dress without the train and with her wedding tiara on a less formal occasion.

PrincessofEurope 01-03-2010 07:07 PM

i would say she possibly wore the Isabella christening ring but without closeups it is hard to tell

I have to respectfully disagree here. I liked the idea of wearing the brooch's pendant as a necklace and I thought it worked perfectly with the rest of the ensemble! The whole necklace would've been too much. While I think the orange dress looked good on Mary, I certainly would've never thought of pairing Rubies with that color. I think maybe the point was to tone down the redness in the rubies by wearing the pieces of the parure where the rubies were smaller (tiara, earrings, bracelet, brooch) and spacing them farther apart.

maria-olivia 01-04-2010 09:06 AM

I remember Mary the day before her wedding, she wore a red gown, long hair and the whole rubies ensemble.. what a difference with Queen Ingrid wearing them ..

UserDane 01-04-2010 11:17 AM

There ought to be a marked difference between an elderly lady and a young one.
Mary wears the ruby parue so well; I'm sure that Frederik's late grandmother would have approved heartily :-).

Katrianna 01-05-2010 01:14 AM

Both Queen Ingrid and Princess Mary do justice to the Ruby Parure.:flowers:

ayvee, you are really great! Thanks for all the close-ups of Princess Mary's jewelry. I surely hope Fredrik added to Marys collection for Christmas.hehehe:lol:

It's hard to tell exactly what the Christmas church necklace is made out of.
http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n.../necklace2.jpg
http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n...4/necklace.jpg

When I first saw it, it reminded me of the chain she used to hold a pendant during the New Year's Court for Diplomats in 2007. Here's a link to pictures of that event - click on the photos to enlarge: Danish Royal Watchers: New Year Court 2007 for the Supreme Court, military officers & diplomatic corps

I think the chain that suspends the pendant has the same thickness and length as the Christmas church 2009 necklace but then again, I haven't found any good photos for that evening so not a 100%.

I agree RubyPrincess, the brooch's pendant as a necklace was a good move by Princess Mary. The whole ruby necklace would definitely have been too much.

I think RubyPrincess you have a good idea why the orange gown and rubies worked together. I also think it was Princess Mary's fashion sense that pull off the whole look down to the purse and fur.;)

Princess Mary has worn several pieces of jewelry from Ole Lynggaard (Ole Lynggaard). Ole's daughter, Charlotte Lynggaard designed the midnight diadem that Princess Mary borrowed for Henrik's birthday in 2009.

Flower earrings worn at Prince Charles 60th birthday and visit to Thailand. It is made up of two pieces:

Love, love, love the fact that she wore the bracelet the Queen gave her to match the rest of the Royal family. Wonderful touch. The pearls actually make her tiara look bigger, can't explain why, for me they just do.

What i think wouldalso improve the look is a diamond base that it sits higher.

I don't like the pearls with the tiara it doesn't look right to me an dunless there are lots a swith Queen Mary I don't think she should repeat the look IMO only of course.

Mary seems to have taken the top part of her ruby earrings and put a drop pearl with them. Princess Diana used to do this, it depends on how long the wire is in the pearl earring if it will work. It looks stunning on Mary!! With the tiara,,, it has never looked better IMO!!

From the Royal Jewels of the World Message Board:

Posted by Davidhttp://images.boardhost.com/invisible.gif on April 17, 2010, 7:40 am, in reply to "Re: Mary in the modern Wattle Tiara"

As a dane, I followed the tv-transmit last night, and what caught my ear was that Anna von Lowsow -a noble lady working for the televison and one of the producers on the forthcoming documentary on royal jewels said that the tiara still belongs to the maker Ole Lynggaard, but that the company has given the Crownprincess - and only the Crowprincess free disposal of the tiara.. So I guess Mary can add a 3rd tiara to her collection of jewels...

I hope to see them like this more often. CP Mary wears this parure in the most inventive ways, and it really 'refreshes' what could be very staid jewelry.

I don't like the Wattle tiara I thought that the teal needed something else I love the dress though and was surprised that dark on dark look was Mary's choice

The complete ruby earrings are so big that it must be very inconvenient to wear them, the small version was too small for my taste. But this combination with the pearl is perfect, imo. Mary looked absolutely stunnig and this was the best hairstyle she ever had with the ruby tiara.

Crown Princess Mary is wearing that wonderful modern tiara with moonstones! I had thought it was only a loan, but maybe it is hers now? Either way, it is very nice to see it again and I am pleased she has a third tiara to wear!

Me too! I was so surprised and also pleased to see it again and hope that she will continue to wear it. I know that many people don't like this modern tiara, but to me it one of the very few (or maybe the only) examples of a contemporary tiara that is really working without being somewhat neoclassical.

Change of subject if I may, Mary's large single strand pearl necklace was a wedding gift from Greenland. This was published in Australia when she married. You may then notice that it appears to be a tradition of some sort as every Danish Princess owns a large single strand necklace probably from Greenland also, even Princess Elisabeth cousin of the Queen. So too Prss Alexandra.

All three of Marys jewel outings were a great success in my opinion! The ruby parure was worn very succesfully with such an elegant classy dress a la Princess Grace/Diana. Im also a fan of the Midnight Tiara, as someone said, one of the very few contempory tiaras that works!

Is it tradition Tarlita I think just about every royal owns a single strand of pearls and earrings to match and I thought that that is because they all just do I own two single strands and so on ..... it is not tradition just a given.

Mary's Ruby & Pearl earring combo reminded be of Elisabeth Taylor's necklace Cartier made for La Peregrina Pearl.

I don't care for this hair ornament, but her pendant is beautiful. Perhaps the only thing I liked from today's outfit.

I agree the whole look IMO was just sooo horrible and then to put a really boring necklace and the silly alice band I must be grumpy this morning so will sign off here

She looked superb, yesterday. A terrific combination, and I adore that blouse!!! Her hair looked lovely with the added wave, too.

I think it looks best when it is worn with a black dress.

Hi everyone...if this has been mentioned or posted before, I apologize.

The link below gives a very good close up the tiara that Mary wore with her teal dress during the birthday celebrations. The creator calls it the "Midnight Tiara" It also gives the name of the designer and a brief history of the tiara. Happy reading!

Thanks for the link Lady Karen! I scolled through all the different collections and saw quite a few things I have seen on Princess Mary. She has a real affection for this jewelry like the designer Marianne Duhlong, and its beautiful on her!

I love this tiara. It's so unusual. Not bright colored gems like we might usually see. It's not one I would want to see Mary wear all the time, but it's very pretty.

COUNTESS 05-07-2010 09:21 PM

It is elegant and lends a tasteful addition to her beautiful attire. She is stunning and does not need the extra "glitz" that some tiaras have.
