October 6, 2009 - HRH Prince Joachim participate as patron of the Danish Rugby Union arrangement with the International Rugby Board Rugby Club Speed in Løjtegårdsvej 58 b, Kastrup at

Prince Joachim visted he Rugby Club Speed on Oct. 7. 2009,
where he met rugby star Jonah Lomo, Copenhagen, Denmark.

well, the face expression is priceless, the combination of suit
and rugby ball has someting funny as well.

Indeed that is a funny picture. It wouldve been nice to see Joachim not so dressed formally, maybe leaving the tie and jacket at home. He wouldve blended in abit more.
Maybe one day the boys can attened this event with him.

Yes, this is a great opprtunity for his boys to attend a function with him. The picture you are talking about is funny because he looks so startled or surprised --- like he's just done something totally unexpected (like catch the ball???).

Glad he's wearing his hair a bit longer and not so clipped. Looks good.

I never pictured Joachim as someone who would have anything to do with Rugby Union. Does he even know how to play the game? :tongue:

Well, Joachim is patron of the school ship, Danmark as well. And she's a full rigged sail ship. - Come to think of it, that's perhaps not such a bad idea. Joachim personally knows a lot of the wealthy businessmen in DK, and that's not a bad thing when it comes to attract donations.

Anyway, I don't recall Joachim anywhere near a rugby match.

Today, July 7, Prince Joachim as Patron of the Danish Rugby Union attended the first match of the European Championships
in 7-man rugby at TRE-FOR Park, Odense.

Yesterday, he had opened the international FIRA-AER rugby Congress, also in Odense.
