Maxima recycling

Reina Máxima - Moda: Reciclados

ashelen 07-14-2009 11:24 AM

i must say what impress me about the recyling that for example the white suit that she use for the baptisim of her first daughyer in 2004 she re-use it in 2009 , after 3 pregnancies she kept her shape very well to re-sue this clothes and white which is not an easy colour to use if you are a little overweight, she looks great! good for her!

The video is totally beautiful, in particular Princess Maxima's earrings, they are great.:flowers:

Maxima looks so good in this color blue. I hope her stylist reads this.;)

Just imagine this color(not the style or fabric) in a day dress like the one she wore to Alexia's first day of school or an evening dress with the Dutch sapphires. WOW!

marmi 07-20-2009 05:35 PM

I have to agree, the blue is great, especially nice as a change.
Nice outfit for a photosession on the beach, there cant be many people who have to dress for that!
I like her earrings a lot.

sgl 07-20-2009 07:42 PM

I agree with everyone else. The blouse is very nice. The shade of blue looks really pretty on Maxima, and it really stands out against the beach and when she is standing next to her daughters in white.

ashelen 07-20-2009 08:14 PM

yes, they look very nice! i think they like to be casual for all the photos sessions! like they want to look like the rest of us! the shade of the blue very nice on her, she looks great1

dazzling 07-21-2009 06:59 AM

Maximas outfit was pretty also like how casual it was for a photoshoot. The blouse with small print was qute cute since the print wasnt big or in your face.

It is sheer, but she has worn a little camisole underneath, so it covers what it needs to cover. Actually, the little white camisole looks great, especially since the girls are in a top that is cut in a similar style. Her makeup is also really soft and natural-looking. She looked perfect for this location.

Stefanie 07-21-2009 09:56 PM

Don´t know whether this is the right place to post but I wonder how long you can lighten or bleach dark hair on and on since I believe that Maxima is naturally very dark-haired. Wonder if she one day will show her natural hair colour again.

I feel you have to blame her hair stylist. A good one knows how to maintain blonde, keep the hair healthy and still give it some natural likeness. Just look at PMaxima's hair early on. Much better. IMO of course. But... I have to say I still love it!! It fits her!!

Hair was done lovely, very neat and looked quite elegent. the hair piece was a perfect match with the outfit, it was also placed very nicely in the back which didnt attract too much attention.

Boris 09-08-2009 06:59 PM

IMHO, this suit combines far too many of designer Natan’s typical shortcomings.
The inferior fabrics (cloth bathrobe on top, creased paper at the bottom), the shapeless tailoring, the unflattering bold cuff and collar detailing, the signature skirt with sloppy inverted pleats… On top of everything, it doesn't seem to fit properly and ages Princess Maxima.
Even if you care for the ‘vivid’ color (and I don’t – too much solid orange), the craftsmanship here is awful. A rather grand start to a high profile NYC tour would have deserved the use of a better designer.
The hair looks okay, though personally I don't care for asymmetrical buns worn to one side. Far better though than wearing it open and stringy.

sylla 09-08-2009 08:05 PM

I like the vibrant color on her, it goes great with her vibrant smile. I did not care for the style of the suit, though, it look a little cheaply done. It's nice when her hair does not fly all over though wearing it down usually makes her more youthful looking. As always, I am shocked at how bad her skin looks. on one picture Hillary Clinton and her look almost the same age!!

sgl 09-08-2009 08:40 PM

I like the color of this suit and the hairstyle and hat, but I don't care for the ruffled collar. It looks kind of silly, IMO.

I am in full agreement with your concise and precise opinion on Crown Princess Maxima's ensemble. Fairly speaking, I am shocked at this awkward ensemble. Sloppy craftsmanship was aggravated by a poor choice of fabric. Moreover, baggy style did nothing to favourably enhance Crown Princess Maxima's figure. It is sad to admit, but the house of Natan should address quality issues related to their products, especially worn by members of the European royal houses. The hairstyle and fascinator appear to be all right.

Boris 09-09-2009 04:12 AM

If Edouard Vermeulen = Natan was a Dutch designer, it would at least provide an explanation for the overuse of his clothes by Maxima.
But since he’s Belgian, there’s just no excuse – and no promotion of Dutch fashion in NYC as one of the world’s fashion capitals either.

as others already pointed out there are several shortcomings, first of all the fabric. it looks cheap, almost like papier mache, and the skirt doesn't look particulary fitted. i don't like to collar either, it looks very clownish and mumsy, imo.

i don't like the hairstyle at all, together with the ensemble it ages maxima big time, plus this updo-hairspray-festival look gives her the mother-in-law rememberance look. it won't be long until she looks like beatrix anyway, she even develops the same wrinkles, but i was hoping for a few more years of freshness. kudos for maxima though that she resist tampering with her face and stands by her natural appearance instead.

ANNIE_S 09-09-2009 06:01 AM

I like the colur of the suit, the hairstyle, the bag and the shoes, but I don´t like the jacket. It looks awful, IMO.

The color looks great, Maxima looks great, WA looks great... Even Hilary Clinton looks great! The fabric of the outfit, however, not so great. It looks like it was pulled out of a bin from a 2nd hand store. Is it a Natan creation? I think Maxima should stay away from his clothes.

Even if we forget that Natan is Belgian, the suit is poorly tailored in my very personal opinion. Assuming that the suit in question has got a nice price tag, there is no excuse for poor craftsmanship. An attempt to combine different textures of the same colour was unsuccessful. Needless to say, shiny fabric did not help the situation.

I've always thought that Maxima looked great in white. This outfit is much better than the one worn yesterday. I like the retro style of the bow at the waist. The pleated skirt is nice. Pleats can be very difficult to wear, but this skirt works since the pleats don't appear to go all the way around the skirt.

susan alicia 09-09-2009 04:57 PM

I like what she is wearing (& her hair and jewelry) except for the bag/shoes and I think her skirts are a bit too short, a bit longer would be more elongating.

Yesteryday I especcially liked the colour of her suit but not the ruffles on her sleeves.

This is such a pretty white outfit which really looks good on her. I love the brooch.
The hair is lovely, very neat yet simple. I like her roots, they arent too dark nor too light.
Maxima matched the white outfit with beige shoes and a beige bag which makes it quite pretty and unusual since many would go for white or black.

:dutchstandard: Princess Maxima looks regal in the coral outfit ,like a queen to be. This royal performing in New York, reminded me the official occasion during the last visit of King and Queen of Sweden in the Netherlands. In the last dutch spring it was perfectly done. In these days it is being perfectly done.

More modern than coral. Especially I like the jacket. Hairstyle is really nice.

god, no. messy hair, bad make-up, the skirt is too short. i do like the top but i don't see how it works with the skirt, different fabric, shades of white etc.

the one thing i like about maxima is that she is not afraid to wear decent jewellery that does identify her as a royal.

susan alicia 09-10-2009 12:46 PM

yes and why would she be afraid, it would be a shame to keep it all under lock and key. It is meant to be used.

You can tell from the front of it that it was styled. Its been a bit windy here in the States. The beginning of fall.

The pretty white outfit is the only one worn by Maxima in New York which I really like so far.
Yesterday, she unfortunately hit rock bottom fashion-wise. A half-inflated silver foil balloon dress by Natan, too short, too shapeless, too wrinkled and too ugly, plus shiny shoes, some sweater tied around her shoulders, and no hairdo.
Awful:

I like both of these looks. The yellow sheath is elegant, and the color is pretty on Maxima. The earrings are a bit much, IMO, but overall, she looks very nice.

The trenchcoat is fantastic! I also like the shoes.

Boris 09-11-2009 04:45 PM

The color of the pretty shift dress is too neon for my personal taste, but it's quite elegant and appears to fit perfectly.
But IMO the overall look is completely ruined by the tackiest 'jewelry' imaginable.
Earrings and massive bracelet in multi-colored, oversized plastic pins and discs? Perfectly ugly.
It's not that she wouldn't have more than enough of the real thing to pick from, in order to accessorize this outfit appropriately.

It's not that she wouldn't have more than enough of the real thing to pick from, in order to accessorize this outfit appropriately.

i agree the tackiest "jewellery" some times she use diamonds for day time and soemtimes this plastic staff that it is horrendous, how she can do sometimes so good nd some times so terrible. who is the person in charg to prepeare her wardrobe for the trips????

Sleevless yellow dress, beige cape/sweater. Dress is lovely so is the hair

Is that yellow, i think it's green. A very nice dress. Her hair is beautiful.
The trench coat is nice, but I do not like the dress.

Love both outfits but the earrings with the yellow-green dress is just awful!!! (((yuck)))

this is imo a good shade of yellow, it can be difficult to wear it esp. if you are blond.

But once again as this picture shows she would look better if her dresses (and skirts) were a bit longer, she would be elongated and it would cover a bit more of her knees.

The coat is very lovely & looks very nice.
The yellow dress is pretty but it could be another color.

I think the outfit is really nice, I'd say "a sunny dress".
At the same time, the colours are simple and rich and Princess Maxima perfectly!

I like both outfit, the first one is very fresh for CP, nice color of dress but I don't like the earrings.
The second is more classical but also nice.
I like the trench coat and matching accessories.

Both outfits are classy and the best daytime outfits of this trip so far. The only detail I really don't like is the tacky plastic "jewellery". Maxima has such great pieces in her jewel box why she opted especially for this event for cheap looking fun fair earrings & bracelet remains her mystery.

Princess Maxima's outfit (12/09/2009).

I don't like this dress. No matter with or without applications.
