Crown Princess Victoria's Wedding Suggestions & Musings
What date do you thgink it will be
June 19th is a low odds why June th is on a Saturday 2010 The wedding day of King Carl Gustaf and Silvia 1976 The wedding day of King Karl XV and Lovisa 1850 Church Storkyrkan Storkyrkan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia is there any other alternatives in Stockholm if you think about the history and the amount of seats it takes? I do not think the crown Princess will walk doen the aile with her father i think she will walk togather with daniel or by her self. Wedding Dress ; Probebly a swedish Desuiger Pär Engsheden! Lars Wallin Her mother had Dior Tiara; the odds on the Cameo tiara but ia m not to sure, i think maybe connaugh tiara its a bit softer and not as heavy easier to find a wedding dress to the iara. I think Carl Gustafs sister Christina wore the connaugh tiara, the other wore the cameo tiara |
For an early summer wedding, I think June 5th or June 12th would be ideal. However, as June 19th is just a couple of days before mid-summers night, it could be a romantic time to get married and the party could go on all night!
I think the wedding will take place in Storkyrkan as it looks to me like the biggest church in Stockholm - the other's seem slightly smaller to me and the more space the better! I think Victoria will be given away by her father and walk down the aisle with him - but if not, it would be great for the happy couple to meet at the entrance and walk down together. I cannot imagine she will walk down the aisle on her own unless it's a Swedish tradition?! |
Of course the wedding's ceremony will take place at the cathedral of Stockholm, near the royal palace!
Do you think the dinner and party will be at the royal palace or at Drottingholm??? I guess she will wear a dress made by a swedish designer! The wedding will be at the end of may or at the beginning of june I guess |
Wedding Day June 22 shell walk with her Father what are the Wedding vows for the Church of Sweden?
|
I really hope that she wears a dress designed by a Swedish designer, especially since she will one day be the Queen of Sweden. For some reason, I cannot imagine her walking down the aisle with anyone but her father. They seem to have a close, loving relationship.
|
There is no Tradition of giving the bride away in Sweden. Most likely she walk down the aisle with Daniel. Also the King and Queen walked down the aisle together and Silvia was not given away by her father.
|
Father giving the birde away though tradition sends the wrong kind of message for the first woman who will be soverign despite the presence of a fully capable brother.

I personally would hope she doesn't wear the Cameo Tiara for the wedding. I think it would be much better if she were to use the Cameo for the pre/post wedding gala, and wear another dimond tiara for the wedding. Like the nine-prong would be lovely, I'm not user how the connaugh would look like with a veil and god forbid she even so much as go near the buttons. The amethyst one would be a big no also, so would the ruby one (the name escaspe me at the moment) and the steal cut one. I rather not see her in the fringe one since it we see it so often. I doubt she would so much as even think of using the braganza tiara so that would leave the nine-prong the next best bet if she doesn't go with the Cameo. While I think the Cameo is really unique, it might limit the choices in wedding gown styles (like how the Queen went with a very simple gown). Besides all the other crown princesses will be wearing dimond tiaras to the wedding and it would be a bit odd if the bride wasn't. I think some one brought up the idea of Victoria getting a new tiara (or was it in the other theard?); I think that would be highly unlike due to the high cost of the wedding.
I little off topic but: I think the buttons would be so much nice if something was done about how they were re-set somehow, the 6 button one has not one, but two rows of dimonds, a lazy design and a waste as only princess Lilian looks good in it. |
I have a feeling Victoria's dress will be made by a Swedish designer. I wonder, though, if it will have some lace on it? I could see her in something lacey. Maybe she'll wear her mother's veil too? Do they have 'maids of honor' in Scandinavia? or 'groomsmen'? or does the Swedish church do something different?

Are there Bestmen in Sweden
|
Here is my wish list for the wedding:
1.) She's escorted down the aisle by her father 2.) She wears the Cameo tiara 3.) All of her royal godchildren are her bridal children:rofl: ... Ingrid Alexandra, Amalia, Konstantine Alexios, Christian -- Eleanore will probably still be too young -- perhaps, Isabella, too! |
I think the Connought Tiara would be a perfect wedding tiara. It's beautiful

I'd like to see.......

- In Sweden, there is no tradition of a 'best man' at weddings.
- There is no tradition of the bride being walked down the aisle by her father either. - The Edward VII ruby tiara is a very interesting idea indeed, I would like that very much. The one obstacle is that the ages-old story about the fight over the tiara's ownership between the King and his uncle Prince Sigvard would be dragged out again by the media, and I don't think the Bernadottes would take that risk at the wedding. - Re-setting the buttons, which are not buttons but rosettes, in a beautiful new tiara could be done fairly easily, IMO. An uneven number of them would be essential, and incorporated in a light foliage diamond design of stems and leaves, e.g. seven of them could be turned into a very nice flower tiara. - I don't think that CP Victoria uses any designer currently who is really up to the job of a future Queen's wedding gown, neither in terms of design expertise nor craftmanship. The worst would be Lars Wallin, Per Engesheden is only marginally better. As Queen Silvia saw no reason to use a Swedish designer, Victoria might still surprise us as well. |
Where do her tastes lean in terms of non-Swedish designers? Her mother's dress was by Dior or Balenciaga? She's certainly got the time to canvas a large array of designers.
|
Queen Silvia's dress (a mixed blessing) was by Marc Bohan for Dior.
While the Queen dresses exclusively in non-Swedish designs these days (the last time she wore anything made in Sweden must have been twenty years ago), CP Victoria's evening wear has been mostly by Swedish designers so far. On the other hand, for daytime clothing she has been wearing Natan, Escada, Armani and Laurel, among others. |
what do think about ABBA or something connected with ABBA for example the great music from Björn och Benny could be part of the pre wedding festivities like it eas at the king and silvias wedding
