HM Margrethe II has made over fifty official/state visits which, of course, do not include weddings, christenings or funerals since becoming Queen of Denmark in 1972. April 1977 http://i312.photobucket.com/albums/l...avia_small.gif Official Visit to Yugoslavia April 1977: Denmark’s Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik paid an official visit to Yugoslavia. During the visit they had lunch with President Tito and his wife on their private holiday island Vanga. The Royal couple were transported to the President’s house by an electrically driven car. Queen Margrethe shares the front seat with President Tito while Mrs Tito and Prince Henrik share the back seat. Picture . |

The royal couple flew from home airport to the Quirinale presidential palace by helicopter where they were welcomed by President Giovanni Leone.
