Do you know that, reigning Emperor and Empresses wear "closed crowns", whereas, reigning Kings and Queens where "open crowns". This is because, Emperor and Empresses are higher in status than Kings and Queens. Their children are Imperial Highnesses and Royal Highnesses respectively.
