Haakon in Minneapolis '05
Thanks for all the info Larzen. I wonder what areas of the midwest Haakon and Mette-Marit will tour when the visit the USA?
|
They will probably visit states like Minnesota (large Norwegian-American population), Wisconsin, Iowa, and maybe North and South Dakota.
|
And possibly the midwest chapter of the Norwegian-American Chamber of Commerce which is in Chicago but those other states are givens.

Do you think M-M and H will come to Australia sometime? I would really love to "meet" them. |
Thank you. This is unexpected. Anyway, I´m sure they will make it to Australia sometime. 2005 is a busy year for Norwegians. Maybe in 2006. Then you can meet them and tell us all about it!

What about the Norwegians in Seattle, WA? |
Well, Plains state. Yes, Seattle. Make a detour to Bothell.

I just read in the Minneapolis Star Tribune Newspaper (3/30/05 edition) that Haakon and Mette Marit will be visiting Minneapolis in October 2005. It also said that King Harald will be visiting Washington DC sometime in the fall. He will attend an unvailing of a statue from the United States to the people at Norway at the Norwegian embassy.

Thanks lots for the photos and these information.

Haakon's visit was covered by the local press a bit. His visit was announced but with no agenda printed. His visit was a very quick one. Not much time for public interaction. The Norwegian royal family comes here a bit as there is a very large Norwegian population here. I wish I would have know a bit a head of time. I would have tired to take off work, but who knows work is always so overwhelming. But it is nice that he came.
