You don't have to thank me.It's true that as a nation we have a lot of "unique" characteristics,not all of them necessarily good,though...(coughing)....

But I'm sure you'll get that now:there are certain Greek surnames' endings that come from certain places,but this doesn't necessarily mean that people with those surnames live in those places-especially,if you think that half of the Greek population lives in Athens nowadays.For example:-opoulos(like Likiardopoulos) comes from Peloponese,-akis from Crete,-idis,-adis and -oglou from Minor Asia,-oulis from Thessaly,Central Greece,-atos from the Ionian Islands(especially Kefallonia).About Likiardopoulos:it's a familiar name to me,I think I hear it very often on TV.Perhaps there's a journalist with this surname or something like that.When I'll remember right,I'll let you know.I'm so glad that you're interested in your Greek heritage!!I wish I could help you more in the future!I believe it's very important to know about our "roots".Keep those questions coming,it's my pleasure!!
