Yes, I agree. The more I learn about Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson, the more I'm relieved at the way things worked out. I just finished reading ROYAL FEUD, which is basically a parallel biography of the wives of George VI and The Duke of Windsor. It's a well-researched book and isn't as sensationalized as the title suggests.
Thank you for the suggestion on the book. Unfortunately, my French is worse than minimal. I had Grade 12 French in Nova Scotia 30 years ago, and very little of it has stuck with me. I'd like to learn more, though. A person can take French at community college in New Brunswick for a minimal fee.
Is his wife the famous Empress Zita? And is the child the current Otto Von Hapsburg? I don't know a great deal about the European Royal Families, but I'm gradually learning.
