Hi Royal Fan, I hope you don't mind me sending you a PM, but I was on the Mechanics of Abdication and of Succession to the Throne thread and haven't visited there for ages. I noticed that I made a comment saying I preferred Queen Beatrix's inauguration to the British Coronation Ceremony and I think you asked why, but Warren edited your question? Well, I'm not sure what happened but I wanted to write to you and explain myself and give you an answer! I thought Beatrix's inauguration from the abdication to the balcony greeting to the ceremony itself and her speech was a lovely, simple way to install the new monarch. However, it is such a different situation to the British coronation ceremony that they cannot really be compared and so I should not have favoured one over the other! I think I will contact Warren and ask him whether it's worth my editing my post after all this time. Once again, sorry not to have posted an answer to you sooner. Best wishes, Jack
