I'm not sure, but I belive so... Mr. van Uden was very respected for his studies in microbiology and biomedical sciences, which he pioneered in Portugal. He's even one of the founders of the Gulbenkian Institute of Science... I'm not a scientist, so I'm not able to give you details, but I know there is an anual conference dedicated to him. I suppose his children are interested in his studies too.
