I am glad to hear that you are doing well. Another kitty will find your family when the time is right! I've always said that I wouldn't get another, but that never seems to be the case. There are always kitties that need a good home, and they always seem to find me somehow. I am sure that this will be the same for you! Things are good here. My cats are very happy because it is starting to get cold, and I have been turning on my fireplace at night (they love to sit in front of it).

    Hi Sql
we are doing OK, thank you. It's so nice of you to ask :-) ...am still trying to convince my husband that we need another cat. He's not totally convinced ... yet. Hope that you and all your cats of course are well?

Hi UserDane! How are your human and feline family members doing? I hope that everyone is doing well.

Thank you Sql. He was a lovely cat; gentle and a good leader of our three other cats. Figaro, our other big male Maine coon is only one year younger and we expected him to seize the chance of becoming alpha male. But he is grieving! He used to lie with Lucifer in the sun, eat side by side with him - and so far the others can not cheer him up - as you say, they really can be very sad! He saw me rush off to the vet with Lucifer and perhaps he blamed me because he wouldn't let me stroke him just after it happened - he tried to avoid me.
I can well understand that you can miss a cat even after 15 years. Whenever we talk about Lucifer here, one of us invariably starts to cry.

I am so sorry, UserDane! He sounds like he was a wonderful cat with a great personality. I understand exactly how you feel. Every time I have lost a cat, it is just as painful as if a human member of my family died. My thoughts are with your family. How are your other cats doing? Are they also grieving? I have had cats that became very sad when we lost a kitty. My very first cat (and my favorite) was a Maine Coon. They have the sweetest personalties. My Maine Coon has been gone for 15 years, and I still miss him. Again, I am so sorry for your loss.

Thank you sql :-) - please feel free to download and use it if you wish. When I have the time, I like to search the Internet for cat avatars and the more who use them, the better. - We just lost a cat here Sql - Lucifer, our Maine Coon alpha male and my daughter's very beloved cat. He was only 7, and it is believed that he suffered a stroke. We all miss him so much, also the other cats.

I do know Chaz. I didn't know that he was a cat person! There is something special about cat people. I love the name Grisling. I hope that Grisling comes home soon. It sounds like we both see our kitties as family members, equal to children. I can't imagine what you must be feeling. I am sending warm thoughts your way. Cats are strange creatures who do things on their own terms. My husband's mother had a neighbor who had a kitty wander off. A year later, he returned. He had been living two streets away with another family during the winter. I hope that someone sees your notices and brings Grisling home. Are your other kitties doing well?

5 cats as well :-) - well, like we used to have before Grisling (which means Piglet...) disappeared. We are still hoping and we have put up search ads everywhere including on the Internet. Do you know that Chaz who is a member here is a cat person as well? He has about ...25!!! He has been very kind and supportive these past 6 weeks when we have been searching for Grisling.

I am very sorry to hear about your kitty. There have been many stories of cats who have wandered away, only to return several months later. I hope that this will be the case! I'm glad to hear that Toulouse (great name, by the way!) is still with you.
