Default The Royal Hat Gallery

Hello All!

I'm fairly new to this board so forgive any mistakes I might make! I was wondering if we could start a little picture only thread for hats worn by various royals. Of course, Queen Beatrix is the doyenne of the hat-world but I'd like to see a shot of Sofia in a hat 'cos she never seems to wear them!

When I've mastered posting pics I'll add some!!

Thanks

xXx

Her Late Majesty, Queen Ingrid of Denmark

I really like this hat. It's very stylish for an older lady and the netting falling over the face softens Ingrid's face.

Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cornwall

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...2-15519641.jpg

With THAT hat! I just love this. It's alive, vibrant and makes a vast statement - here we see Camilla saying through her millinery that she is most definately on the Royal scene now!

Her Majesty, Queen Margrethe of Denmark

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...362725-001.jpg

This was a marvellous creation and looked spectacular with the outfit, however, it would have been better had the skirt been a little longer. This hat was practical because HM could kiss in it and look pretty.

Her Majesty, Queen Anne-Marie of Greece

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...F15-728612.jpg

I think this is more of a fascinator than a hat but it is just such a flattering item of headgear and really made Anne-Marie look elegant and every inch a Queen!

Lol! Well, that's for sure! And I'm going to look out for some pictures of Sofia in a hat! And of others of course.

This is extremely glamorous and elegant. Its actually an amazing outfit altogether, but the hat is a divine creation.

This is simple yet stylish.

Her Majesty, Queen Margrethe of Denmark and Her Majesty, Queen Silvia of Sweden

What a fabulous combination! The two hats are perfect and look spectacular side by side.

Her Majesty, Queen Margrethe of Denmark

This hat really suits Margrethe - it's one of her best IMHO.

what about HM Queen Elizabeth II and late Queen Mother? and also late Princess Diana? Diana had glamorous hats since her marriages to Prince Charles in 1981-1996 and Sophie Wessex also.

This hat just screams out "Queen Mother". It's her shape, her colour and just a trademark.

Her Majesty, Queen Anne-Marie of Greece

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...308691-038.png

I believe that this hat was a round band with built up decoration covering the hair poking up through the open top of the hat.

Her Majesty, Queen Margrethe of Denmark

This is a bit of a mistake with the brown fur I feel. It doesn't really go as an overall look and the feathers are bit flat and look greasy! But with the right outfit it could look quite nice.

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...UR10248154.jpg

This is perfect for Margrethe. It doesn't show her receding hairline - it just says 'I'm the Queen'.

Her Majesty, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...nhill/cs31.jpg

A smashing hat in a vibrant colour.

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...eenhill/16.jpg

Perfect for the occassion which was the funeral of the Grand Duchess Josephine-Charlotte.

Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cornwall

This was for the Trafalgar Review I believe. It's very Naval and really suits Camilla.

Some of the hats worn at Ascot are absolutely hideous and I don't see how they can be classified as hats! Some are not too bad and acutally kinda cute.

Queen Beatrix loves hats, and the main thing is that hats fits to her perfectly!!!

None of them are nice IMO or should be worn by a royal. What was P.Ann thinking? looked like a basket and left over fruit was stuck to the back of it

Why even bother. That was one of the dumbest looking things I have ever seen.

In general I like Sophie's hat, but I wish it had been in either bright or pastel tones, it is Easter and we want color and fun! Thumbs up to the Queen, who's been looking spectacular (love the hat, don't love the suit). And Princess Anne, I just don't understand that hat.

I'm assuming she bought it somewhere, since I don't see her attempting crafts. But it's just too small and then there's that odd headband thing (sort of reminded me of that time Diana and Sarah both tried turbans under their hats but even they couldn't pull it off), and then the odd, very small arrangement of fruit on the back. I wonder if any other celebs have been spotted wearing such a thing...

Does P Anne's hat have a built in tie that's wrapped around her head???

And Sophie's hat is just atrocious.
