Not a bad thing...very attractive, but it's there!
I have to agree, Mary definately dyes her hair. I'm not a hair stylist but I have been coloring my hair for a long time and can spot a color job pretty well. Although I'm not saying that Mary's hair looks bad, in fact I quite like it auburn, but I do think that her natural color is lighter with less pizazz.

Mmmm I remember seeing a picture of Beatrix during a visit to the NL Antilles (i don't remember whether it was 2001 or 2006, the last two visits...or maybe a previous one) with her hair all flat due to rain and humidity there. In spite of the messy result, she looked really fine and modern!

Does anyone remember this picture, and can maybe post it?

I merged this thread with an old thread called "Royals who dye their hair" so now, you will find some interesting pictures at the beginning of this thread.

Have fun!

The Princess was, immensely tensed, watching the very last moments of a ice skating final during the Olympic Winter Games in Turin, Italy.

Thanks Henri M.!

Are there any videos of these two occasions?

Back to the topic, another picture of Máxima with a different (hair) style and colour...

I think Queen Beatrix looks great with this softer hairdo, much more modern.

A light brunette, I would say. As a child she was blonde, but got soft-brown in her teens.

I'm a techno idiot, but if you go to Princess Anne's thread last week there was a photo of her where i thought WTH has she had done to her hair? Her colorist really needs to be tried for treason. It was just flat and dull, no luster at all. I know she's not terribly interested in her appearance, but if you're going to take the time to dye it, get someone who's going to do a good job. It takes the same amount of time for a bad job as a good job, you know?

Diana did dyed her hair. I think she started just after her honeymoon with Charles. In the late 90's, it had become even blonder. Just compare those pics :

To avoid paparazzi, her hair dresser told her to try wearing wigs but you definately couldn't fool them ...

Most of these hair jobs are pretty good. I think that dyeing your hair is ok if you like different looks, or if you're like my mother, and can't bear to have grey roots.
