I just realized, the Spanish royal women don't really wear hats, do they? Come to think of it, I've only seen them in tiaras and mantillas.

Only in the weddings or ceremonies of this type. In Spain the hat is not used very much, for us to see the Queens and the Princesses always with hat is very strange, because here they are in use very little. If the Queen or Letizia were taking every day these big hats it would turn out to be to us a bit ridiculous

I remember recent several but now not where to look for the photos.

The Queen Sofia last year the day of the National Holiday, was taking the same suit that Mariló Montero a Spanish journalist, wife of another important journalist.
The Queen Noor of Jordan took to the wedding of thePrinces of Asturias the same coat that a Spanish writer, Elvira Lindo.

In the dinner previous to the wedding of the Princes of Asturias, Maria García de la Rasilla wife of Konstantis de Bulgaría there took the same Oscar's de la Renta garment that other one invited.

no indeed. i do think they coordinate a little. i read an interview with Vermeulen in which he was asked about M and M having some of the same clothes (of his) and he said that they have made an agreement not to wear those outfits when they appear together. (the once every 3 years that that happens )

CP Mary looks so much better in her dress, even though it's the same!

Marie Chantal and Maxima in Chanel

Mathilde and Maxima in similar-ish Natan coats, different
colours and Mathilde does not have the beads around her neck

Maxima and Mathilde with the same suede elf-like shoes
from Natan, they are just so unflattering on the legs IMO

pics from Seeger, deadline, UKPress and colourpress

thanks for posting these photos. I much prefer the way MC wears the Chanel coat-with the neck open. much more flattering.

I also HATE those 'elf' shoes. indeed, they make M and M both appear as if they have fat legs which they dont at all.(though the colors are well coordinated with their outfits)

I like the higher neck of the Chanel coat, it's better for cold weather like at the wedding Maxima wore it to.

and, those shoes! The designer must be reprimanded!

Yeah, but it could do without the decoration on the shoes. Other than that, I agree with you.

Missed the shoes - they are a bit silly actually - what is it she's got tacked to the top?

I think it's some kind of leather bow, but in the opposite direction.
