How about daytime skirts two inches longer, and high heels two inches shorter. Might be less dramatic but it would look more human, more real.

It would also make her look a lot older. Have you seen the high heels other royal ladies where these days? I don't see how longer skirts and lower heels make her look more human or real.
She is human and real.
A new pair of high heels and some different outfits wouldn't go a miss for Catherine.

Marchesa quality cannot compete with that of Dior, Chloe, Celine, McQueen, Saab, Alaia, Valentino. To name a few. It would be a sh.tty investment, considering the fact Kate does not accept designer gifts.

No but if she bought a dress, looked good in it, is there an issue? Dior, Chloe, Celine, McQueen, Saab, Alaia and Valentino can have quality but some of their dresses are god darn awful! I don't think I've ever seen a bad looking Marchesa gown. Catherine can do worse, she did the other night.

My only suggestion is for HRH to wear what she is comfortable in and occasion appropriate.
Maybe because I'm a guy, but I don't think Catherine should be 'fashion forward' or 'edgy'
She does an amazing job of promoting British designers and the High Street.
I like that Catherine remains true to herself and does not accept freebies and does not employ stylists or ladies in waiting.
The temptation is there to succumb to a European or trans-atlantic makeover, a la some other princesses (including the late Princess of Wales) but she doesn't.
The Duchess of Cambridge has shown when the occasion demands, she is the most stylish princess in Europe and personally I admire and applaud HRH for keeping her style 'real'

The rep. The quality of their dresses and simply because all of that frou frou stuff is not her style and it would overwhelm her.

Marchesa? I like their gowns and a lot of women wear them. IMO, Kate is not sophisticated enough to pull them off.

Hi KittyAtlanta, you know, sometimes I think that you say something (a) to see the reaction from the other members or (b) to pull their feet!! I honestly believe that Kate is a really sophisticated lady and was brought up that way from her younger days!! She had her bad days but for most part she has what is takes and uses it well!! She is natural but sophisticated and throw in the bit that she is also classy. She is doing a good job!!!

Kate is a woman that in later pregnancy could appear out somewhere in a muumuu and there'd be a rush of women all over the world sporting muumuus pregnant or not.
I do think though that Kate is a very elegant and well dressed woman.

Maybe it's silly, but remember how earlier in her marriage, Kate dressed in theme for her visits a bit? The military McQueen to her first military engagement, the sailor dress to Prince Edward Island to see the Anne of Green Gables stuff? Well I kind of hope she does that for her Harry Potter engagement. Nothing too overt- maybe wearing Gryffidor colors or a fun accessory. I'm a huge nerd for stuff like that.
