Royals in Manolo Blahnik

please post pics of royals in manolo blahnik's fabulous creations

Carlota, Christian Louboutins shoes are easy to recognise because they all have red soles, forinstance Olga of Greeece says she ONLY wears his shoes (ofcourse that would make anyone green with envy), so on all pictures of her you can see the red trademark sole on her shoes, the pics posted of the shoes above are not the best but in closeup you can see the red sole peeping out on the heel and under the shoes.

Princess Letizia was wearing Manolo Blahnik's shoes during the christening of Leonor

Whuaaaaaaaauu, i love this thread...go on posting!

I did not know who Manolo was until the TV series Sex in the City made him the most popular must-have shoe name in New York. Almost like a shoe god for the city wear. There was even an episode discussing the character spending all her money in shoes she could have used for a loan on an apartment.

Here are his creations at the British Design Museum

...Thanks in part to Sex And The City Manolo Blahnik has become one of the handful of designers whose name is synonymous with their product. In his case it is his Christian name, because “Manolo” is now used as slang to describe very expensive, very beautiful shoes: even by the millions of people who have never actually seen a pair of Manolo Blahniks and could not dream of spending $300 or $400 to buy them....

I am quite sure Infanta Elena has some Manolos.

Don Jaime is a big fan of it and he even offered Dona Letizia a pair to use in her wedding day, so I am sure he must have offered some to his wife.

But :(, I'm not big fan of shoes, sandals and so on (to be honest I have to double check threads whenever you mention that accessory ;))...but I will look to find.

Regards,
mtbcm :)

Perhaps we should also start a thread on Royals in Christian Louboutin shoes. Lol. The Monegasque ladies seem quite fond of his creations. I must admit, the shoe threads are among my favourite on this forum.

Oh this is a great thread. :)

I'm sure Infanta Elena has a few pairs of Manolos. Here are some photos of her husband is coming out of a Manolo Blahnik store and yes he is carrying a bag. Most likely a gift for his wife!:)

It says he even has invested in it. I need to ask my husband to invest in Manolo Blahnik. Although I doubt it will go over well. :p

Jaime de Marichalar, Infanta Elena's husband, comes out of a Manolo Blahnik shop in which he has some invesments.

Jaime de Marichalar and his sister Ana are associates of Manolo's shop in Madrid that was inaugurated last year ... this way it is easy...how it is normal to see the women of the family with Loewe's purses, company of which Jaime is counselor and Laura Ponte image.;)

I always wonder how you guys can recognise the brand of the clothes/shoes/ bags. bags are easy, cos they have the logo on them. but how do you recognise the clothes/shoes? do you recognise the design cos you have seen the design on the runway/on magazines or when you see something new royals wear, you look them up on the websites of the designers?

Clothes are easy to recognise if you know which designers a person favors. For designer labels, you can look them up on Style. Shoes are harder, but some, like Christian Louboutin, have trademarks (his are red soles).

This thread was a terrific idea. Keep the pics coming. Queen Elizabeth and Princess Anne have a lot of Hermes scarves, don't they?

She was "hidding" being pregnant with Caroline, by carrying always the big size (40 cm) in front of her belly.... And the bag was named .. kelly

Caroline has a very very huge collection of Kellies.... I'm wondering if she payes for them, or if they are complimentary offered by Hermes.... for the promotion and the use of the name...........

Most likely, Hermes gave them to her. Princess Caroline has clothes and accessories sent to her by a multitude of designers hoping she will wear them out and about, so especially Hermes would send her the bag they named for her mother. Christian Dior, Hermes and Chanel all send Caroline loads of freebies.

Louboutin has amazing shoes. I love the sling backs on Mette-Marit. Very glamorous.

I doubt that. The Kelly is universally desired, and Hermes is notorious for not giving anything away. Even Jane Birkin had to pay for her namesake bag which she helped design.
