Some dress's that have been posted i have never seen before and i really dont want to look at them casue they are a disaster and the people wearing them i dont even know who they are.But the people who i know and didnt think their dress's looked good, were
1.CP Mathilde, i thought it was too simple and boring.
2.QRania, the white satin made the dress look cheap and the gold embroidery didnt make the dress any better, her make up and her was a mess to me.
3.Mette-marit.Her dress wasnt to bad, but didnt like the fact she had hardly any make up on, looked like she just woken up.

did no one notice that Mathilde and Letizia was similar?I still think that mary had the best dress,it eptomized the concept of royalty and being a princess with its sleeves of satin and train and her crown

How about Princess Caroline's plain and loose blue suit she wore when she married Prince Ernst August. Granted she was pregnant with Alexandra at the time so I can forgive the looseness of the outfit, but she had worn the suit before. Couldn't she have at least bought a new suit for the wedding then she could've worn it again afterwards. And the suit was just so plain; there was no pizazz to the outfit at all. I know it was Caroline's third wedding and Ernst August's second but couldn't Caroline have chosen something so non-businessy?

Thanks for the pix of Laura Ponte's wedding. Now can somebody please explain what the heck it is that she's wearing  ? My word, that's an ugly wedding gown :D !

According to Point de Vue, Laura Ponte had chosen a wedding gown which looked like the 1920's fashion. That's also why she worn her tiara upside down( yes, look carefully at the pictures!), to stay in these years' theme.

Yes, you're right. The tiara is upside down (I wonder if that scandalized the royals:) ). While there is something to be said for her huzpah and originality, it's still an ugly gown, at least to me, anyway. I have to admit, that's one look that I would dare anyone to duplicate!:D

here are some brides that looked terrible, did anyone notice that marie chantal dress was so frilly, the handwork and expensiveness of it didnt hide the fact that looked like a large white wedding cake and what about alexander manley, her hair was terrible ![url="http://www.theroyalforums.com/forums/attachment.php?"]http://www.theroyalforums.com/forums/attachment.php?

and did any one notice that elena had a plait /braid on her wedding day!I dont know why they seem to make such huge faux pas on their special day

personnaly i love the look of Matlide's hair. there is nothing like that weave non-weave look-i'm kiddin.

I had not seen an aerial view of Mabel’s wedding dress before, but you really get a full effect of those bows. Bows, like the ones on her dress, do no suit fashion this side of the ‘80s. :)

Now, Laura Ponte. I am very fond of 1920s fashion including wedding gowns, but this one doesn’t look that good. I liked the front of the dress, but I don’t think the silver (?) things around the back and a bit of the front were very nice. The veil and tiara were certainly ‘historically’ accurate, but a little out of place in these ‘modern’ times. There is this Russian designer, Nataya, who I like, and she specialises in ‘1920s themed designs. Her bridal designs, I think, would have been much better than Laura’s choice. I think we should start a new thread which has ‘dresses that the brides who didn’t look so good should’ve worn’.

I have to ask, is that Marina Ogilvie actual wedding “dress” (the red and black thing)? Because if it is, that is just revolting. That isn’t even something I would wear to go and pick up the mail from my letterbox or take the rubbish out to the bin. It is horrid. :(

More pics of Laura Ponte. She didn't appear to smile too much. :(

I had read somewhere (sorry forget the source) Dior had to cut several meters of this gown before the wedding ceremony. It is because of soraya could not carry the gown easily (its very heavy). Once, I watched their wedding documentary in TV...Soraya has to pull hard the gown in every step she made, she walked like a robot because of it.

Is it Princess Alexandra of Denmark,Princess Alexandra of Berleburg or Princess Alexandra of England you are talking about?

I think Princess Alexandra of Denmark didn't look so great. Her hair was EVERYWHERE and her dress looked all rumpled:(. I think we should give her a break though -it WAS the mid-1990's.:p
