Since we are talking about royal wedding gown, I will naturally prefer those gowns with symbolic design on them. So here's my list:

1) Queen Elizabeth
2) Sarah, Duchess of York
3) Princess Letizia

Timeless classic (My definition - I defined it as I will wear it if I am getting married now!!)
1) Princess Margaret
2) Princess Maxima
3) Lady Helen Windsor

My favorite:
- princess Marie of Denmark (dress that I wore if I get married)
- CP Mette-Marit of Norway (simple, beautiful dress)
- Isabella Orsini (wife of Edouard of Ligne) - modern and lovely dress
- queen Margrethe II of Denmark - perfect for autumn / winter wedding

Worst dresses:
- princess Diana of Wales - she looks like too huge cake
- princess Olga of Greece - gold and feathers/fur, then her tiara ... Olga is a beautiful woman, shame on such a choice of dress
- princess Astrid of Belgium - huge sleeves.
- CP Massako - I do not like the collar and sleeve length.

I can't get the link to carry to the brides so I will simply say, GD María Teresa

Princess Märtha Louise

Then Princess Mathilde

Even for 1950s, Grace's gown was too frilly and fussy for my taste. Too Hollywood as well.

I like Serena's wedding dress best ( mainly because it's the first royal wedding I saw so it's what got me interested)

CP Victoria's 2nd and CP MM 3rd

But I think I'll love Catherine Middleton' s too

I am not so good at posting pictures or I would- Serena is Viscountess Linley and her dress is in the royal wedding thread - she is the QE II niece in law

Can anyone else please help with pic posts?

Thank you. As soon as you said her full name I knew who she was. Yes it was a pretty dress. I heard it was in honor of her Mother in Law.

Sorry about that, I should have said her full name- yes it was in honor of Princess Margeret :) I just remember seeing it as a teenager and thinking wow not that's a Princess dress

Yes, it was clearly an homage to her husband's mother. Can you imagine the reaction if Catherine were to do the same? Of course, Diana's dress was fairly dreadful. I was not a fan of her early style.

I've made a conclusion that many recent wedding dresses were either very simple or tacky without "fairy tale" spirit which was present in older wedding dresses from period of Princess Grace,Princess Diana or Sarah Ferguson.I'd rather prefer Vivienne Westwood Gothic variant then the modest one
