Princess writes new book in honour of MR Kukrit
HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is to launch her book "Thailand's Administration from Ayutthaya to Early Rattanakosin" in honour of MR Kukrit Pramoj, her late private lecturer. The book is compiled from notes the princess made when she received private lessons from Kukrit more than two decades ago. He was Thailand's 13th premier, a scholar, great writer and the founder of Siam Rath newspaper. "At that time I was still a student at Chulalongkorn University's faculty of arts," the princess writes in the preface. She goes on to say she had to adjust to a large classroom with more than 100 students after having become used to a small class where it was easier for students to ask questions. The princess' enrolment to the university marked the first time that a high-ranking royal member received higher education in Thailand's state university. She also sat in the central university entrance exam like other students. "There was no big problems when I was studying there except that I complained like a child about how difficult philosophy was. Therefore, Her Majesty the Queen invited Kukrit to be my private philosophy lecturer," the princess says. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/2006...s_20001908.php

Quote:
I do notice in other pictures she favors the yellow or golden colors in her dress code. Anyone knows if there is a meaning to that preference? |

As an invitation of French president, HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will attend the opening ceromony of Tout à Fait Thai (Thai Cutural Festival) at Château de Versailles on September 18.
The festival will be the kingdom’s first-ever large-scale cultural event organized for a foreign country – even larger than any other festivals held by Thais in their own backyard. On this special occasion, HRH Princess Maha Charkri Sirindhorn will join an ensemble of Thai musicians playing a traditional Thai concert at Musée National des Arts Asiatique (Guimet) in Paris on September 19.
