Respectfully

All I love are Thai Dresses on their HRH Princesses, seriously.
It had a story since it was a yarn.....
Not made from high or famous designer, but that too stunning for me.

Almost HM The Queen fabrics are maded from people who work in her project to make more opportunity for poor people.

These past few days have definitely given us all some amazing glimpses of a truly spectacular and absolutely fantastic Diamond Jubilee Celebration!

I think this must be the most wonderful royal celebration I've ever seen, there have been such spectacular events with glitter and splendour, and I'm glad that it has put some international spotlight on Thailand and the role of King Bhumibol, otherwise some media tend to be focused mainly on the European royal houses.

The only thing I can think of, worth "nagging" about, would be that I wish there had been more monarchs present from Europe, and not "only" the Crown Princely Couples. Of course sending them is important as well, but for such a special jubilee as this, celebrating such an important King in his region, I think it would've been nice to see also the monarchs there.

A big thank you to Jess, the work you've put in this weekend is truly unvaluable!

All photos & news about the Diamond Jubilee are welcomed on this thread.
However, All old pictures of the King & the royal family should be posted on the Royal Family of Thailand Old Pictures Thread
I have moved couple of posts containing old pictures of the King to the thread.

Please don't forget to check whether the same/similar image has been posted to ensure no double posting, and please provide a Copyright for the source.

Thank you very much for your co-operation.

Purple you made this event an even more memorable one with your effortless contributions on the story behind the Thai King, all details surrounding the event and so many great pictures - present and retrospective (great to see).

I never paid attention to this monarchy before but now I see how much I've been loosing.

This event will be in everyone's mind for a long long time.

Congratulations King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand for Diamond Jubilee!
And congratulations to the Thai People!

Now, I must return to page 10 .

Regards,
mtbcm :)

p.s. - I wouldn't like to misinterpreted but I'm quite sure that everyone know what I meant in thanking purple:)... I've now finished reading and seeing "drooling" over pictures and the event seems more fantastic from post to post. Thank you ALL that contributed and thank you Thai members who effortlessly answered the several questions presented. It is so heartmelting to read your messages full of love towards your Royal Family. :)

Thank you very much everyone for the "thanks", but all of those who posted here deserved all the credit.
It's a great event, the best i've seen so far, and an easy subject to fall in-love with all these amazing images.

It's something rare within our radar, in which we can see all the grandeur & glitter of the asian royals, but at the same time, we can see the humble and down-to-earth approach to the royal guests.
It's one of those event where we can see why the monarch touch his people so much, and well, according to Thais, they love the King more then their life.

I agree with GrandDuchess, it would've been even more perfect if all those European Kings & Queens are present, but all the younger representatives really did a great job in representing their countries. but, yes, deep in my mind, for once, i'd like to see King & Queen attend with the Crownprincely couples. It would make the event just perfect.

All those carefully planned program are done with our outmost surprise and really something memorable. Once again, i'd say i'm really touched on how personalised this visit is for the foreign royal guests. Each of them are treated with the outmost respect by the Thai RF and the royal household. Starting from when they landed in Bangkok (or Chiang Mai for Albert), and until their departure.

Princess Sirindhorn & Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn & Princess Srirasmi really did a splendid job in welcoming their guests. it's also great to see the daughters of Princess Ubol Ratana present on this joyful event.

Well, as do all Thai says, Long live the King!

No need to be so decent: Hats off Jess! You have provided so much background information and images, without you it would have been not half as colourful and interesting. And yes the commanding impression is this great hospitality of the Thai people! So once again: Long live the King (and Jess of course too)!

Dear all,

Just for your informations...........

The simplest and most common of Thai flower arrangement is the garland, called in Thai "Malai". For the Thai people, there exists over a thousand ways of making a garland, each has its proper use and place in flower arrangement. Flower petals, leaves and stems are employed.

World royalty begin to leave Bangkok

BANGKOK, June 14 (TNA) - World royalty who came to join Thailand's state and Royal events celebrating the auspicious occasion of the 60th anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol's accession to the throne earlier this week have begun to leave Bangkok.

His Majesty the King has assigned His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn and Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to send most of the Royal guests off the Royal Thai Air Force's Airport and the Don Muang Airport, while some of them were honourably sent off by government and military leaders Tuesday night--after a state dinner banquet hosted by Their Majesties the King and Queen at the Grand Palace here.

The Royal guests who have departed Thailand include His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates, His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan, His Highness Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani of Qatar, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Taimour Al Said of Oman, His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander, the Prince of Orange of The Netherlands, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon of Norway and His Royal Highness the Duke of York of the United Kingdom, who were among the first world royalty arriving in the kingdom last week.

His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates departed Thailand Tuesday morning after joining state and Royal events on Monday, including the Royal Barge Procession.

Some other Royal guests are still in the Thai kingdom, visiting interesting destinations outside Bangkok, including historic places in the central Ayutthaya province, the northern resort province of Chiang Mai and the southern resort province of Phuket.
They include Their Majesties Emperor and Empress of Japan who are scheduled to visit Ayutthaya on Wednesday.

World royalty salute Thai Monarch at Royal Banquet

BANGKOK, June 14 (TNA) -- Royalty from around the world joined Thailand's King Bhumibol Adulyadej Tuesday evening at a royal banquet to celebrate his 60th year on the throne as the world's longest-reigning monarch.
King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit welcomed royals from 24 nations in the Rama IX Throne Hall, or Borommaratchasathit Maholan, in the Grand Palace, a glittering compound of golden temples and palaces in the heart of central Bangkok.

The new Rama IX Throne Hall, an extension of the Chakri Throne Hall built by King Rama V, known as King Chulalongkorn by most foreigners, performed its first official function Tuesday evening in the function that concluded the two-day celebrations with visiting foreign royals.

....
The food served in the banquet was prepared mostly from products of a number of royal projects that the 78-year-old monarch has sponsored to help the country’s rural poor. It was cooked on location in the throne hall’s kitchens on a lower level.
A famed chef prepared a remoulade of horse crab and crayfish, roast veal, steamed rainbow trout and apple Charlotte with lavender ice cream for the royals as well as a buffet for 1,000 members of their entourages and staff.

King Bhumibol in his speech thanked the royal guests for their presence.
“The historic assembly of royals from around the world should enhance friendship and relationships between our monarchs as well as our countries,” King Bhumibol said.

Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei, whose reign is the longest among the royal guests, delivered a speech on behalf of the foreign royalty conveying a salute to His Majesty the King.
“We are here to express our profound esteem for the personal qualities enriched by Your Majesty, and so enrich it," Sultan Hassanal Bolbiah said, expressing what others were thinking. "The 60 years [of your reign] are not just 60 years in the history of Thailand, they are in so many ways the history of our times,” the Sultan of Brunei said.

Following the royal anthem Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah invited all the guests for a toast to honour King Bhumibol.
Kings, Queens, Sultans, Emirs and royal representatives then proceeded to receive presents and souvenirs from Their Majesties the King and Queen before bidding them farewell.

In the website thai photo center, there are pictures of all royal departures. If you don't find pictures of some royal representative, it means that they haven't left thailand yet!
