HRH Princess Bejaratana was born on 24 November 1925 in the Royal Grand Palace, Bangkok, as the only child of King Vajiravudh (Rama VI) and Princess Consort Suvadhana. After having seen his only child for a day, the King died, on 25 November 1925. Her uncle, King Prajadhipok (Rama VII), performed the naming ceremony for the princess on 30 December.

In November 1957, mother and daughter moved back to Thailand. They bought a piece of land on Sukhumvit Road Soi 38, and build the Ruenruedi Villa Palace, which is still the home of the princess. Once the princess had settled into her new life in Thailand, she proceeded to undertake her Royal Duties representing the Thai Royal Family. Her special interests have been in connection to education, public health, Buddhism, the soldiers and police stationed at Thailand 's borders, and general public welfare.

Near the end of her life due to her age and health she had lately cut down on her Royal duties, but once in a while, she still did work related to her late father.

Princess Bejaratana died at Siriraj Hospital on 27 July 2011, same place of the King Bhumibol who has still done the treatment. One day before the Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn's 59th birthday. There will be a mourning period of 100 days, starting from the day of her death. Her body will be taken to lie for the Royal mourns at the Dusit Mahaprasat Throne Hall, the Grand Palace, like the previous royal funeral, Princess Galyani Vadhana (the King's elder sister). The Royal Cremation Ceremony may be held next year.

The previous royal funeral of Princess Galyani Vadhana, the Princess of Naradhiwas (died 2 January 2008) on 15 November 2008...

The royal cremation of Princess Bejaratana will be held on April 9, almost nine months after the Princess's death.
Today, Thai workers were adding the finishing touch to a newly-built royal cremation site for the Princess.

Thailand's frail king makes rare public appearance at his cousin's funeral as 200 men pull her urn through Bangkok on royal chariot
The King of Thailand yesterday made a rare public appearance at his cousin's funeral as he left the hospital where he has been staying for more than two years. King Bhumibol Adulyadej, 84, ventured out in a wheelchair to bid farewell to Princess Bejaratana Rajasuda in an opulent cremation ceremony in Bangkok. The world's longest reigning monarch wore the traditional white royal uniform and a black armband as he left Siriraj hospital, which he has rarely left since he was first admitted for a respiratory condition in September 2009.
