June 2009 Official Picture of the Month Poll
Welcome to the
June 2009 Official Picture of the Month Poll!
The monthly official polls will highlight the official side of royalty as opposed to the informal side of royalty.
The monthly formal polls will consist of pictures that show a royal on official business. - gala events such as the Nobel prize ceremonies, state visits, royal ceremonies such as the the Order of the Garter ceremony in Great Britain or the New Years gala for the Knights of the Order of the Elephant in Denmark, Opening of Parliament, coronations, enthronements.
- openings of public events, government buildings, hospitals, christening of ships, official charity work
- family celebrations (such as wedding, christening, or special days such as Victoria Day in Sweden or Queen's Day in the Netherlands, King Harald's 70th birthday) and the balcony shots that accompany them
- among many other official events
We hope by the end of the year to have some really stunning and regal Picture of the Month winners to compete in our 2009 Picture of the Year awards.
The pictures in this poll reflect the official royal events of June. It will close on 30 July 2009. During this time, we ask that NO ONE STATE WHOM THEY'VE VOTED FOR so as not to influence other members as they make their choices. After the poll closes, you can discuss as much as you'd like about which image you voted for and why.
This month, our Picture of the Month representatives had help in selecting their images with a small committee of their choosing. Below, you can see each royal house's representative (in bold) followed by their chosen committee members.

Enjoy and have fun!

June 9, 2009: Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania wave from a motorcade on the day of the 10th anniversary of the King's accession to the Throne. Thousands of people lined the streets of Amman to greet the King and Queen as they rode through the city, just as they had on the day of the King's investiture ten years earlier. Queen Rania lent her own sentimental touch to the occasion by wearing her coronation gown. The motorcade ended at the Amman stadium where nearly 15,000 people, as well as members of the Royal Family, had gathered for an official ceremony to celebrate King Abdullah’s ten years on the throne.

Wonderful selections, as usual.
Although this month’s pictures were all magnificent, I didn’t hesitate a moment as to which one I should actually vote for: the picture I chose depicted a lot of the things I would like to see in a Royal.

I do not get it? What do you guys see in picture "E" that I don't?
It's not that great. Just my opinion.

I think you might get a general idea by reading the description of the picture in question.

Congratulations to Spain. The picture of Prince Felipe was very emotional and deserved a victory - I never had doubts which picture to vote for.
It is truly tragic, however, that the situation should repeat itself and today the Princes of Asturias had to offer their support to yet more victims of terrorism.

Spain's picture was very touching indeed but I honestly really like the Dubai picture which I did vote for since it showed a very happy Sheikh Mohammed and Princess Haya enjoying their day at the race and its not always you get to see such a great atmosphere of the two together.
Congratulations to the winners
1. Spain (35)
2. Sweden (17)
3. Norway (16)

Not just because a country lost means someone manipulated, we would never do that, who wins wins and who lost good luck next time
